When the 25 man squad was announced can was there 3 or 4 places blank? If there was 3 would it be safe to assume after Caeser if Granero and Mbia sign then that'd be the end of the signings till Jan or can the list be changed?

I thought the 25-man squad could be changed until 24 hours after the transfer window closes.

Premier League clubs won't have to submit a finalised list until early September...Monday 3rd I would estimate. No others will then be able to feature until at least January, when Mark Hughes can bring in dozens of new players before submitting a final list for the season in early February.

Currently the squad would look to be:

    GKs: Cesar, Green, Cerny
    FBs: Bosingwa, Fabio, Traore, Onuoha
    CBs: Nelsen, Ferdinand, Hill,
WMs: Park, Mackie, Hoilett, SWP, Taarabt
CMs: Diakite, Faurlin, Derry, Dyer, Ephraim
    CFs: Cisse, Zamora, Johnson

Thats a squad of 23. According to reports you can add in M'Bia, then probably replace Ephraim with Granero. I wouldn't then be surprised to see one more centre-half

23 with Mbia, Kjaer and Granero to sign means someone will miss out, probably Ephraim.

You may be right. In some ways, I'd like Green to be given another game now - just wish it wasn't Citeh!

Cesar cant be played this weekend due to international clearance.

That I presume would be the same for all the other deals were are trying to do if they are coming from abroad (which by the sounds of it are).

But for me if we sign a couple more players the likes of Ephraim and Dyer must be looking over their shoulders in terms of not making the squad.

No wonder he had a long face at Norwich. He could be doing a lot of bench sitting then
