Just got back in, saw this on SSN. So of course my first port of call was to come here and see the glee in all your posts. I am really starting to worry now. MON definitely seems to be thinking along the same lines as myself and others on here. He knows whoever comes in, Sess is the pivot of our team. No team will prosper as a one man team. But! One man can be the pivot for a team. Cantona at Man U. VIerra at Arsenal. To name two. Extending Sess's contract is the best news I have seen this window. He is a touch of class above most in his position. And personally I think his defensive work is under rated, he has a great work ethic and has on numerous occasions broke up the opposition play in midfield. I have seen him get frustrated at times but I have never seen his head drop. With two flying wingers and Sess in the hole we are starting to look the real deal. I know I never have a go at fellow Mackem's (apart from the ones silly enough to attack me first. ) But when people were being negative and talking as if we couldn't keep Sess, I wanted to bitch slap them.
Adam johnson in the england squad as well !. Can see Dempsey and Fletcher up front with Sess playing behind them, with Mclean and Johno knocking balls in looks great.
I didnt think that he was on his way until after we got fletcher and johnson! I had the worrying feeling that last weeks business was being partially financed by the eventual departure of Sess!!!! Pleased to be wrong! Yet again!
I have always maintained that if he wanted away we had to cash in early and replace him. I said yesterday that Mon would not sell him this late in the window but you never know how desperate other teams might get tomorrow, so this is excellent news. That he has signed a new contract says everything we need to know. He 's a happy bunny. Fletcher, Johnson, McClean, Sessegnon, Larsson and now Dempsey (possibly) is a wonderful attacking threat to choose from. Incredible few days.
First time in 50 years I have looked at our team and thought we are moving forward in leaps and bounds. Rather than I hope we can survive in the top division.
My son has just come in from work. Gave me a right bollocking for not phoning or texting him about Sess. hahaha
Bent broke his heart but not his spirit. He is as chuffed as us that Sess his favourite present player stays.
Judas broke a few of our hearts mate and our trust of these badge kissing bastards. Marty has restored our faith again though. Lol
He was in the Hughes camp when the rumours were flying Cest. We had some right arguments about it. He has been man enough to admit he was wrong on Hughes and MON is the man.
