    I know there's been a few articles on him already, but Scott Wilson wrote quite a personal one today called 'Why It Was Right To Boo Owen' - Can't find the original online, but I'll type up the bit that stood out the most for me...

    Basically, Wilson begins by saying that throughout his time in football journalism, he could never pick someone who has been the nicest (there's too many) but when thinking of the worst, Owen jumps to the top of the pile. Said he never EVER spoke to local journalists (why would he, The FA Selectors don't read local papers) and showed nothing but disrespect and contempt whenever he was forced to deal with them! He then wrote this:

    Well Michael, it would appear that the more 'facts' fans like myself learn, the more I cannot stand you...Feel free to **** off and die!

    Aye that's what I thought, Sunday league managers don't do it for money, sponsorship, fame or the adulation of millions, they do it, quite simply, for a love of football, something that arrogant prick doesn't seem to understand anymore!

    I think even then he was just thinking of MO and the extra publicity he would get for playing for England. Wearing the shirt didn't count as much as getting the cash and the publicity.

    What a horrible slimeball! I feel for the coach Cledwyn. If he reads that, imagine how hurt he'd feel. Whats worse, is that it also makes us, as club look disrespectful to the media, when our own media centre are rejecting invites....while Sunderland freely accept.

    Thats the problem with superstar players signing for smaller clubs...they begin to think they're some sort of demi-god, and the club and fans should be doing them somekind of favour.

    Eurgh, he really is an odious little prick. Like Jwag said, the more I hear about him the less I can stand him.

    "If the fans knew the facts then they'd have a different opinion of me"... Correct, judging by this latest revelation it would actually be far lower than it already is.

    I wish we knew of this before the game. The stick he got would have been even worse, and his twitter comments would have been even more pathetic.

    I'd be more surprised if I heard anything nice about Owen, we've all read stories from fans who've been rebuffed by him but hopefully one of the tabloids may pick up this story. I would not like to wish any harm to anyone, but with regards this slimeball I can't wish him well. Luckily Capello saw through him and ignored him.

    I feel ashamed for defending Owen on multiple occasions, didn't know his true personality, just thought he was a quiet (money-grabbing) lad.

    Deserves everything coming to him.

    I know, as if he has the highground over anyone. Morgan's usual insult to Rio is calling him sicknote, so Michael Owen getting involved isnt going to help!
