Right as we all know Jermaine Beckford isnt Nigel Pearson's cup of tea. We have all expected him to leave all window and now his agent Nick Rubery has just tweeted saying there has been some interest in Beckford. I would expect him to go but weather Nigel thinks he will need another striker remains to be seen but I dont think he will. But after seeing Waghorn play he clearly isnt up to it. Schlupp isnt ready and that only leaves Futacs as back up to Nugent and Vardy.

If Nigel didn't want him any more, he would have left at the same time that Bamba and Mills did, he looked a completly different player against P'boro, like Pearson & Co had really got him working.
Just because he didn't have a great half game against Charlton doesn't mean he should be dropped and sold, dropped maybe, as Nugent deserves his chance, but then Beckford would be next in line when Vardy or Nugent have a poor showing.

Why what has JB done to warrant keeping him on such huge wages?

A handfull of league goals and a half decent record in the fa cup doesn't justify wages of over 30k.

Not fussed if he goes but would definitely like a replacement brought in.

Totally agree. I dont see the big attraction with Beckford. 9 league goals in about 40 games is nothing to shout about. Take away his FA Cup goals and he strike rate is very poor. I would much rather Matty Fryatt then Beckford. People used to knock Fryatt all the time but he always but a shift in and his striker rate was decent. Plus he didnt have an ego like Beckford and his wages was reasonable

You cant just sell a player when you decided you want to, its not that easy!!

Id rather he went, im sure he can bring in a loan.

    Its not too hard

Years ago when we had people like Elvis Hammond and Mark De Vries it was like trying to sell a dead horse.

Becks is a decent player so teams will be interested its just the financial side of things where the problems lie.

Who can see Huddersfield coming in for Becks?

They just sold Jordan Rhodes for 8M so they have the cash. Plus Simon Grayson had him at Leeds

I reckon NP is of the opinion that if an acceptable offer comes in then he will consider it - if not then he will stick with Beckford.

I.e he won't hawk him around but let others come.

Yes but we hold out waiting for the best deal possible, Beckford holds out for the best deal possible. Eg say he agrees a transfer with Burnley 3 weeks ago, his agent will tell him to wait until the end of the window to see if anything better come along, and rightly so. So much goes on in transfer, you dont just decide to get rid and they go.

Now we have Futacs theres no need for Heskey, think we are well covered up front if Becks does leave, although i don't want him to.

He will be the man to set up the goal that gets us promoted.

Heskey never was a natural goalscorer (aside from is first/second season with Liverpool when he scored over 20 if I remember correctly) but he is the most unselfish player around - will do all of the dirty work and allow others to get the glory.
