Interesting article OFH - I heard a rumour yesterday that CC had signed for York, which I thought was a massive drop for him, but if he has no club, then perhaps if might be true. I was sure that he would get a game with Betty at The Cobblers after being on loan there.

Certainly puts things into perspective when you look at some of the names on that list who are looking for clubs - I wonder if their salary expectations are hindering them?

Two offers of 80-90% less than he was on last season simply shows the ridiculous state of the game today. Assuming he was on an average Championship wage of around £500000 pa at Burnley, that means lower league clubs are offering between £1000 and £2000 pw. A minimum of one hundredth of Ballotelli's weekly wage.:(

CC would be a great asset to Div 1 club. Can still deliver it on the pitch, articulate and a strong role model for young players - he is the sort of player that you would want to look at to eventually bring through your coaching set-up and possible assistant manager. Compared to some of the other Div's on that list, he would be a steal for an ambitious club.

I see Tommie Hoban has also signed a new 5 year contract...

Tree Head-Butting - a new sport going to be included in the 2016 Olympics?

Very true. They belong to a different branch of humanity - I twigged to that a long time ago. ;)

Evening all. Thanks for the caramel latte Ak :)

did you get my text Barry?

So, i have decided this has been the longest summer in history! The kids seem to have been off school forever, but then...with A levels and GCSEs two of them have been home since May. What with the Jubilee, the Euros (which seem like years ago) the Olympics, Paralympics, A level and University stress, GCSEs, a week in Ireland and the bat mitzvah next weekend..it's been a bit busy..it's a wonder i've managed to fit work in. I realised today that i'm ready for the kids to go back now. After yet more lifts here there and everywhere (Master Hornette's car isn't insured at the mo so can't help out with lifts), i'm ready for a rest. And now, to cap it all, my PC has a killer virus and i can't get access to my C drive..grrrr! Thank goodness for laptops..though it's a few weeks since i backed up which is a pain, hopefully we'll be able to get it fixed tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Ee - a balmy summer's day - it's a slightly cool 4C here at the moment, although with blue skies and bright sunshine. Our predicted maximum is 7C. :(

Morning all, 13C at present, max 23C this afternoon. Mme Lebon who has just been in for the daily stabbing says that it feels nice and fresh outside this morning. In addition to being a district nurse, morning job, she is also a farmer, afternoon and evening occupation. She reckons to walk a minimum of 14kms a day, no wonder she is not carrying too much weight.

I haven't been this excited in the morning since Christmas day, 1995 (I had asked for an Action Man helicopter, and my mum had been dropping hints like, "we'll see what presents Father Christmas has left hovering around". I was only 9, but come on. You've got to be more subtle than that).

Anyway, this morning, whilst driving to work, I saw a car parked up on the side, and 2 people walking towards the said car. I thought, "hmm, it looks as if they are wearing Watford training kits. I'm sure I recognise him". I glanced back at the car to see a Czech number plate, and looked back at the 2 people and realised it was Daniel Pudil and Matej Vydra!

AND, they basically followed (verging on stalked) me to work, before heading off towards St Albans.

I feel as if I have been in the presence of prophets.

How hard can it be to change a tap? First the plumber thought he hadn't enough room underneath the sink so I removed a shelf. Then the connecting pipes needed to be curved not straight so he had to go and get some. Then he couldn't shift the old tap. Then he phoned for his boss to try and help him move the Belfast sink to get at it. Then they scraped away the seal and decided the tap was fixed into the marble work top and couldn't be moved without getting someone in to do that. At which point I told them to get a new top/valve/etc for the old tap and returned the new one to B & Q. No-one stocks the parts locally of course, so it's an Internet order and a wait of another week with a leaking tap. ThanK God it wasn't the central heating system...:steam:

    This reads well

The only word I recognise there is Mordor, so I assume this is all about an episode of Taggart? ;)
