Man U's youth/reserve team has a Belgium U21 left back. He was in the squad to face Scotland in Dunfermline when Cairney pulled out, but since we have Dawson and Dudgeon already I couldn't be bothered to go and watch when that was the nearest we had to a link.

Strange how Belgium seem to have suddenly magically produced a ****load of quality players.

Shame they're still not capable of qualifying for the Euros regardless.

I remember Scifo and Culemanns ? spelling ? both were great players in an otherwise poor team.

It is a bit of a strange trend at the moment too , i found the Belgians ive met on holiday are rude and impatient

Belgium, the home of Stella Artois. Official worldwide sponsors of domestic violence.

They share a border with the French, the Germans and the Dutch. So no more.

Only joking the Germans and the Dutch are good for a laugh- the ones i've met anyway. But the French <yikes>

Don't get me started on chips & mayo. Rank!

I believe Belgium is used by a lot of foreign players as a place to play for awhile in order to gain work permits for the rest of the eu but most notably the uk, due to their laws being looser on foreigners coming in to play football. This could in part be responsible to rising standards of football over there.

Belgium is a great country been there many a time, friendly people, great beer, cheap prices for cigarettes and alcohol, what more could you want? However if you ask my dad about Belgian people, you may well get a polar opposite answer <laugh>

I never even realised Dembélé and Vertonghen were Belgian.

That's quite a list of players they name though.

I thought Aiden Hazard was Irish the way some of the commentators pronounce his name. Isn't Kompany Belgian too?

I've always found the dutch talking ones friendly and nice. As ever, anyone in the world, including Belgians, who speak french, are arrogant arseholes.

You only beat chips and mayo with chips and german curry ketchup!
