We always suspected as much. However Bates can hold up progress for a few months, but Warnock maybe able to keep us within touching distance until January window, who knows? Cant see Bates still there at that point. Interesting he hasnt got rid of Harvey. Clearly doesnt even have that much authority left
I agree, that was my own realistic hope, be within a sniff come January and if the T/O does materialise hopefully some funds given to NW which he can use to good effect. If Bates goes and we sign a couple of quality players in January, with the likes of Byram, Peltier, Pearce, Austin and White we will have a decent platform to build for a promotion next season. I would take a mid table finish this if it meant part of the rebuild with new owners.
Warnock may already have a couple of temp loans ready to come in, with a view for a permanent move in January. Sick to death of seeing clubs like Blackburn, Wendies, Ipswich, Brighton, Watford spend big money on players and all we can afford is to get some freebies and spend a bit after selling others. Please go Ken, you've achieved your twin goals. Fill your bank accounts and cripple the club.
It may only be the sun, but this week may just be going from good to very good. Maybe he'll go before the TW shuts & maybe Warnock has already got a couple lined up as permanement additions... or just loanees until January & permanent deals. All starting to look promising. Downside, the kop end will have to completely re-write their song book. Keep Bates I say. The kop will never cope with a complete Bates-free re-write
Okay it is the Sun but it is headline in a red top so it will get good publicity, can only be a good thing.
Read the article I linked yesterday in the morning all thread. From what I hear, bates has no power left at the club.
Marko Its a good read, but it is lacking in any form of proof. I would be very sceptical about Ken Bates & Shaun Harvey been estranged. Only a moron would buy that piece of journalism.
I wouldn't be so sceptical. Harvey is now liaising with LUST. Would he do that if he was still bum buddies with bates?
A couple of things worry me. The Sun cite "sources close to the deal". I smell LUST! Why would the deal go through either on the last day of the transfer window or worse the day after it closes. Even worse I hear that Udders are looking at taking Bechiio as replacement for Rhodes. I heard this from the same person who told me Rhodes was joining the chicken killers (when I said Rhodes was off a couple of months ago some of you scoffed).
