Unbelievably although equal bottom of the league they fully expect to beat United as they did many years ago when United played in that dreadful grey kit for the first half of the match you eventually lost!. They think it will be a stroll in the park now that Rooney is out injured! Please give them a reality check and kick some of their arrogant arse's!
Do you support Pompey by any chance? Most Utd fans prefer to wait till we have won before shouting our mouths off. Can only say we will do our best to win.
They have a chance, if they didn't, what would be the point of this league if the best team or team expected to win, always won. If man utd can concede 2 goals at home to fulham then there is every chance the saints can score agaisnt them at home. In saying that I expect utd to win (mainly for fantasy football reasons) but I love it when a underdog comes out on top.
We are the favourites and if we play at our best we will win, but maybe Southampton perform really well and get the tactics right could always pull of a shock result.
As a Saints fan I am amused by SB3 opening such a post as this. I think most fans expected to lose 3 of our first 4 games and were hoping for something from our game at home to Wigan. That didn't happen and now we are just a little concerned with our immediate prospects. Yes I know that any team can raise their game occasionally, but I just pray that you don't humiliate us whilst at the same time hoping that we can maybe spring a surprise. If we can see a good game with the two teams showing some form then I will still be relatively content. More so if we gain anything from the game of course.
I fully expect Saints to give United a tough game - why wouldn't they? They're at home and they've already given one Manchester side a scare. But I still think the Red Devils will come out on top, and RVP to bag another one at least.
Pleased to see Manchester Utd fans are far more switched on than to believe any of the rubbish that comes out of Singingbluerinse . I hope your team is not quite so switched on Sunday, but either way as most teams do, we look Forward to playing Manchester Utd
Sounds like a very biased OP from my point of view. Was looking at an Southampton forum on my break and a lot of of the posters on that forum said it will be a very tough game for them. Perhaps the OP can provide a link to where the Southampton fans were claiming they "fully" expect to beat us?
Singing Blue is notoriously relentless with badly aimed "banter" towards us Saints fans. As for the match i have faith that with a couple of new signings to fill our weaknesses (one of which is right wing which has been filled by a quality player yesterday) and a definate CB needed we can put up a good fight
Will be a tough game but confident United will win. Should have something called a defence ( am I saying that right? ) for this game. Its a new one on me as we have not had one this season but sounds exciting.
