    We finished 4th the previous season which meant we qualified to enter it. As in 1998, you weren't champions when you entered the 1998/1999 champions league..you finished 2nd in 1998.
    Out of the 4 CL to have been won by English clubs, only one was won by the domestic champions from the previous season and that was Manchester United entered the 2007/2008 CL as 2007 league champions. The champions league winners with the lowest league finish when they won the competition are Chelsea(6th). For the European Cup, its Aston Villa who finished 12th in the league in 1982.

    Thats correct. Theres been a few since that. Liverpool in 2005, AC Milan in 2007, Chelsea in 2012.

    Fulham have cash to splash having stiffed Spurs on Dembele. He's a good player, but definitely not worth £15 million(&#8364;19 million)

    But you were trophyless when you entered it in 1998. What you've mentioned carries into the 1999-2000 season, not the 1998/1999 season.

    Doesnt matter, when we became Champions of Europe we were already Champions of England. I would much rather be Champions of both England and Europe at the same time than not and thats what we became. So what if we finished 2nd the season before. From May 1998 that meant **** all for the following season <ok>

    It does matter when the point being made was when you entered the competition you weren't champions which was August 1998. You were the first non domestic champions to win it, as you weren't domestic champions when you entered it. Give me ****ing patience.
