He wouldn't beat out Senna, Schumacher, or Fangio, who will be the top 3 surely. He shouldn't manage to beat out Stewart or Prost who I would hope make up the top 5, but I think the BBC employees will bump Moss up the ranks.
I don't see them putting Vettel in. If they were going to, they would have done it by now. Remember, it's Benson doing the list...
They said that 4 (I think?) of the drivers on the list were still racing. Assuming they've at least won a drivers' championship, that limits us to Vettel, Raikkonen or Button because we've had Hamilton and Alonso and can expect Schumacher to appear. Realistically it limits us to Vettel or Raikkonen, because even British bias isn't enough to push Button this far up the ranks ahead of Hamilton. Within that youngest double WDC should beat out Raikkonen, seeing as I hope the BBC employees who combined to make the list remember that Raikkonen's been out of the sport for two years and hardly set the world alight during the previous two even before that. Of course, it could be someone else. Perhaps Sergio Perez's tyre management skills will see him move up the list.
I would laugh once and then never come back to the F1 forums as that would be 100x worse than Alonso Vs Lewis 07.
Ok heres the plan.... If the #2 is announced and we still dont have Vettel then we will personally call apon 'Anonamous' to take down the BBC ok? We will also string up Andrew Benson and lock him up in a secure room with just EJ for company. Overnight I will erase all these driver countdown threads, Track down all the old 606 wums, convince FF to become Mr Jose Lorca again and then spark off a 2007 thread. I will also lure in some of the GC crew for good measure. Maybe start a whole festival week of Wumming here on the F1 board with no moderation. Hopefully THEN!... it will all be forgotten... Hows that sound?
It's a long shot................but it might work! I will be heads up on the matter if it arises. "DEFCON 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" "DEFCON 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" "DEFCON 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" "DEFCON 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Somehow I got this strange feeling this will be the theme song going through my head if he does get in the top 5. *American accent* = "My God! There coming!" I was there when Seb was voted by the BBC as the "4th best driver" in history, how about you?
This is what I reckon would happen. "The F1 fans sent a machine back into the past to fix the future so Seb wasn't above other F1 legends." Starring: ME: As Sarah Conner. Benson: As the Shrink leaving the police office. El_Bando: As Kyle Reece. The **** storm from the posters: As the Terminator. BBC: As everybody else. *Nobody was injured during this film and nobody should try to replicate the situation unless you are ****ing crazy and need to be put into a nut house!"
Or another way it goes down is like this with me and Manny. I'm Turk, Manny is the Todd and the scene is defending Seb like hell to be at that place in the high rankings. In the end Schumi gets the number 1 spot
Ayrton Senna Alain Prost Jackie Stewart Jim Clark John Surtees Juan Manuel Fangio Stirling Moss Michael Schumacher This would be my selection for the top eight from those remaining (no particular order), but which one will be relegated to obscurity by the unbiased BBC team to make way for SV?
Does that mean even Jake and Lee McKenzie took part in the creation of the list?, might explain why there are so many blunders
Jim Clark is number 1 on most lists that I've seen, including Murray Walkers list. I would be surprised if Clark wasn't in the top 3 at least.
