During his time at Sunderland he was frequently a laughing stock and the basis of many jokes on here with most if not all laughing at his idiocy and in agreement he was a true, authentic cretin. Now with the anonymisity of a poll lets see how many will admit they thought he was a fat talentless twat until he was appointed our manager. Any less than 90% and rose tinted glasses need taking off or billy bullshit needs flushing away.
I used to take the piss about the fact that he looked like a dinner lady - but never about him as a person/manager. I think that's a similar situation to most to be fair.
I'm just going to repost the little stat I dug-up earlier: In 171 league games since promotion to the Premier League in 2008, we've won just 14 by more than a single goal. That's an average of just 3.5 league wins-per-year by two or more goals.
Same as JD really with all the dinner lady/Mrs Doubtfire stuff but always thought he was a decent manager for the Championship and bottom end of the Premier League.
ive never been interested in what a manager looks like - as for the man i never really took much interest in how his previous teams were doing either . I think during the rumours of his appointment i had to ask about his management style , Bruce has a good track record so i dont understand the wobblers .
Does anyone know how to search back through all previous posts I've ever made? I remember one particular thread we had on here awhile back which may well catapult a few eggs on to some people's faces but I can only look through my last 20 pages of posts...
Can you not remember who started the thread? You could just go back through their started threads then
They get archived after a while, you can sometimes find them with Google, if you can can remember a specific bit of text you posted, but it's a bit of a long shot.
slagging somebody off for general reasons and not rating somebody are very different... that penis at TWS is the perfect example, cant stand him, but if he was named our manager that would probably change instantly...
Bruce did very well for the Mackems- they finished mid table a few times under him. Despite this, the next stage was beyond them though as they were up against better clubs with bigger budgets. This eventually was his downfall as the Mackems have delusions of grandeur and can't take been in Newcastle's shadow. Another two factors were, his last year in charge (well half of the season) didn't start well and gradually got worse. Unfortunately, for him that's what he is remembered for, much like Browny's downfall at City. This, coupled with their infatuation and hatred of him, because he was born in the wrong area of the North East, was pathetic and he never really had the Mackems on his side. He's very good at this level and in lower premier league level- he got Birmingham promoted and kept Wigan in the top flight. Doubt if he did the same with us, many would be upset with that.
