I feel sick. No doubt we will recover but this season has gone from potential top 6/7 if we held our form to mid table 9 - 15 in my eyes. No point trying to bring in a like for like replacement, we need some one solid to let Diarra push on a bit- Huddlestone or Noble would be decent. Can't believe he has gone to Spurs- they will stymie his development and, if another club does come in, turn it into a long protracted saga with Levy getting every penny from the deal. Someone has told me the fee was only £10m- if this is true we have been truly done over, Fletcher would have been as expensive- I though £15m was low. Really not feeling good any more, never felt so strongly about a player leaving. I knew the time would come, but now- and to Spurs, with just over 48 hours till the window closes.... bleughh
Looking on the bright side (where's that at this moment in time you may ask), we still have Mr Jol, and England won't be coming some time soon to take him away. And I doubt he has the aspirations to take on a big club like QPR as last time. So come on "big man", show us the way, please. We are in wait.
Hey ho. . . . good luck to him. In my opinion the most naturally gifted player we've seen in our years as a Premier League club. If he can add goals to his game he'll be one of the top midfielders in Europe. Good that it's been done now and not dragged on until Friday so we at least have time to get deals done on replacements.
Haven't felt this strongly about a player leaving since Saha/Steed, but even those had an air of inevitability about them. We all expected to lose Dembele, but this transfer window? I thought he would sign an extension and leave next summer, which I still believe he should have done. I hope it doesn't take the club as long to replace Dembele as it did Saha.
I'm with you silky. But, oh you know my emotions were about the same level when the Club ditched Graham Leggat, Alan Clarke .. I could go on right up to Louis Saha. Come to think of it, after each of those there was a dip in performance but best not go there. There were just as bleak times at the corporate level - who can forgive Clay, Bulstrode and that crook who used to do the 'phone thing. My point is, I got over each and every one because I still had Fulham. COYW
Bit insensitive of the Club to put this up on the website at the same time as announcing Dembele's departure, don't you think ? http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2012/august/29/christmas-parties
It's a massive shock, this must have been going on very quietly for a few days. Not to worry, roll on new signings. Fulham 'til I die, etc.
Christmas Party Posted 29th Agust It's approaching that time of year. What? Autumn? Because Christmas is four months away.
Like Murphy I don't think Parker can last a full game, and would be more likely to miss a lot of games throughout the season. Huddlestones loan deal to Stoke!!! seems to have fallen through, so may be there is a chance we could pick him up.
