I said it before a couple of posts back...Carroll can NOT be cup tied in the group stages if he plays tonight. <ok>

  5. Only if Heerenveen failed to turn around their first leg 2-0 loss to Molde. If Heerenveen manage to get through to the group stages then Assaidi will remain cup-tied <ok>

  6. Yes he can! The only way he wouldn't be cup-tied if we failed to make it <ok>

I think Adam and Spearing should both start tonight... but let someone more talented start tomorrow.

Place a bunch of wax dummies in Hearts uniforms around Anfield tonight let Adam think he is still part of the team.

    Bet we'd lose though. : (

Alex... I'd be very interested to see that line up but it would be playing a little bit of a gamble. Two inexperienced CBs paired when we know the other team will enter the game with nothing to lose... they have to score ... would be a gamble.

I think that line up would still win... but I'd play a little safer. Probably pair the slow but experienced legs of Carra with one of the two.

Remember... Downing isn't experienced at LB either.

No mate he will be available even if they go through. The qualifying rounds are looked at as a different stage.

You guys are confusing me <steam> Its tomorrow we play isnt it not tonight? If Adam Spearing and Carroll are planning to be sold then none of them will start as wouldnt want to risk injury. Will be interesting to see the squad when announced will give us a clue who there trying to get rid of.

If Adam n Spearing are gonna be sold, I think Coady,Texeira,or Suso should get a game alongside Hendo n Shelvey and keep Stevie,Sahin n Allen fresh 4 Sunday

    My 11

    Reina
    Kelly Carra Coates Robbo
    Texeira Hendo Shelvey
    Downing Borini Suso

Stevie n Suarez on bench just in case its goin pairshaped

Brendan said Sahin isn't available for Thursdays game due to paper work ****. I would imagine he will miss it along with Gerrard and a few and get ready solely for Sunday.

Can't help but think that Suso isn't in our European squad?

I would like to see Coates play again after his solid performance on Sunday, who knows, he could cement a place under Brendan, should he perform.
    Would guess at:

    ----------------------------Reina--
    ----------------Carragher-----------Coates
    Kelly-----------------------Allen------------------Robinson/Downing??
    ---------------Henderson----------Shelvey--------
    ----Borini-----------------Carroll-------------Sterling

Assaidi can't play as he's ineligible. I reckon Raheem Sterling will start this game, and then be rested for the visit of Arsenal. We could see a Shelvey, Allen and Gerrard midfield trio with Nuri Sahin making a second half appearance, just to integrate him into the side.
