Why haven't we signed Dempsey yet?

I am at a loss as to why this excellent player hasn't been signed for us. To me, he is exactly what we have been screaming for over the last 10 years or more.

An attacking midfielder that can score 10 to 15 goals a season. I assume he has had talks with MON recently in Sunderland, suggesting that he is interested in a move, although his preferred move is to Liverpool, I think the signing of Sahin, has put a stumbling block between this move to Liverpool for him.

I hear fellow Mackems saying that his wage demands are too high for us, I am assuming we are talking about 60k to 80K a week. Bollock to that. If ever we are to become a top club in England then we need to get players of this calibre.

Johnson has signed which is an indication of where MON and Ellis Short have the club moving forward. Fletcher is another good player, as is Saha and Cuellar. However the area we need to improve mostly, excepting our yearly LB saga, is a goalscoring midfielder.

A recent article by myself on the Liverpool website asking why the delay in signing Dempsey, gave me further feedback suggesting that most of their fans would love him in their team, but his age of 29 was of concern in the so called 'sell off factor'.

However fellow Mackems, I keep hearing about our billionaire owner and this great sponsorship deal for our shirts, so money shouldn't be an issue, if we want to reach the top level of this league. All the big clubs pay their players top dollar to attract them. We need to start doing the same.

I am suggesting to anyone that will listen that Dempsey is the perfect player for our team, a proven EPL player, that will potentially over the next year or two get our great club into Europe.

    That is all.

    Logistics. History.

It does amuse me when players end up in clubs like QPR, West Ham, etc. simply because they are in London, but that is to the teams advantage. Your next biggest hub is the North West. Liverpool have a huge history, whether they are playing well or not, and near a major international airport or two.

I'm not sure it's all about the money anymore (apart from Baby bell-end Jet), but family and how to get around (and weather).

In my opinion MON should have singed him (or Berbatov) instead of Fletcher, but i may be wrong, how no club has been straight in for him i cannot believe it, he would have been top of my list if i was SAFC manager, i hope the club have not done a Connor wickham, we talk about moving forward but we needed 2 top class strikers, and last night i did not relise Fletcher was playing until the second half !, he has to move about more, like Mcclean who was fantastic, as was Johnson, he should have scored the headed goal, but it is his first home game and he will get lots of chances. Will we ever have two strikers score 44 goals between them again?, like 11 years ago.

I am most certainly not itk about who is coming and going to and from the club. However I would ;ike to comment on what age players should be bought.

Wickham we are told is one for the future, what about today? Well I would argue as a football team we are only as good as the game we have just played and the one we are about to play and longer term is no further than where we finish overall in the league and how we do in cups. I personally do not like Defoe, but I do not doubt that he will score goals, I am not sure about Dempsey but again his record says he is an attacking midfielder who will score goals, if we are to do anything like finishing high up the league this and next season or to win some silverware in a cup comp it is obvious that Defoe and Dempsey would help us do that, as for their resale value and how much they want in wages and how much they cost to come in, well I leave that up to Mr Short and Ms Bryne to consider.

I am a just a fan who wants us to play fast attacking football and win stuff

Cheers mate, I had a feeling it was someting to do with our location, that sux, but how do Newcastle keep attracting top players and they are further up North?

At least we got Johnson, he is mint and will work well with Sess. Hopefully our two wingers will score goals as well as supply Fletcher with decent crosses.

We are actually making some progress with our squad now, thanks to MON and Ellis.

It's not all about re-sale value tho.. If a 29 yr old can come into the side and score 23 goals from midfield, that would shoot you up the ladder (money there) into a European place (alot more money there). And if he's an American, he will sell shirts to a crowd that hasn't bought any of ours since Reyna back in 2001. Plus higher position & European football bring in more sponsorship, which is something Ellis is working very hard on.

We might not get the 8million back for him that we paid, but we will make that back in other ways. I would love it if Dempsey signed for us.

    This:
    Hey Guys,
I am writing to tell you that, no, I am not a 'Football Agent' or 'ITK.' I am infact an 18 year old and I have been fooling all of you gullible idiots with my fake stories for the past 2 months.
I started out when I was bored one evening and I never once thought that I could get 43k followers. I feel my twitter experience has been very successful with some of my 'Stories' even trending 5th in the world. I'm proud to say that I haven't had even one transfer scoop in my time yet people still say im more reliable than Sky Sports News and the BBC. Laughable.
Some of my personal highlights were the Kaka and Falcao stories which were completely made up. The Daily Mail even wrote an article based on my Kaka tweets and the 2 journalists who wrote it were following me. The Falcao story was possibly my favourite. Last night it was trending worldwide for over an hour and for over 3 hours in Spain and in the UK.
Another fascinating thing about my time on twitter was how some top respected journalists believed my rubbish and even used me as a news source.
Whilst I am here I can also point out there is no such thing as an ITK or Agent on twitter, anyone with an IQ in double figures would realise this. @Agent_NCP , @EPL_Source and @Agent_ITK are all just poor versions of myself who would be nothing without begging me for shoutouts. @Backpage is another clown who stole my fake stories everyday and passed them off as their own.
Im not sorry for wasting everybody's time, you should have realised I was a fake when I got all of my stories wrong and deleted countless tweets. I still cant believe that, I, personally have been trending in Manchester, Leeds, Ireland, Nigeria and South Africa. Perhaps I do feel a bit sorry for the guy who got 'Falcao 20' printed on his Chelsea top.
I have really enjoyed my time on twitter, especially winding up Everton and Tottenham fans on a daily basis. You idiots must have realised I was a fake when I linked your team with every player possible in the hope that one move would happen.
My time has now come to and end and I hope to enjoy the last few days of the transfer window without making up rumours myself. Thank you to whoever followed me and retweeted my garbage, it was really appreciated. Goodbye Everyone

    Regards, @FootballAgent49 (The Boss)

Love it - taken from a twitter account today.... really made me laugh 43k ppl following him..
