This could be the start of a torrent of goals.

Simon Lappin's fine strike from 25 yards helped Chris Hughton pick up his first win as Canaries manager.

Lappin gave the hosts the lead against Scunthorpe, firing in from 25 yards, but the League One visitors forced their way back into the League Cup tie when Mark Duffy rifled a second-half equaliser before half-time. Norwich secured victory when Wes Hoolahan scored from the penalty spot after he had been fouled by Niall Canavan.

"I'm gutted; I've been watching for 5 years and waiting for this moment. I can't believe I was at home relying on radio commentary when it finally happened said a dissappointed BeefforHire.

What a moment. I wish I could have been there. I'm massively looking forward to the highlights.

It was an absolute cracker and a great move leading up to it too. I thought he was going to slam another one in, in the 2nd half but over-stretched and injured himself. Great move that led to the penalty - Thought Hoolahoops, Fox and Francome were impressive but Martin & Morison were poor.

martin and morison were both poor tonight, which is a shame as it was a great opportunity for them both to show what they can do. disappointing <ok>

From the little I have seen of Francombe I quite like him. Not sure he will be prem quality but certainly has a bright future. Others think he has a role to play?

Bugger, just had to be abroad didn't I? Good for him though. Sounds like it was a good goal!

Francomb did look very good against MK Dons in pre season as well, will be interesting to see how he fits in this season. Done himself no harm by the sounds of it, will also be interesting to see if Lappin stays now too baring in mind he seemed to have a cracker tonight as well.

I do think today could be Chris Martin's last appearance for us, still surprised he lasted longer than Vaughan, I don't think he is a bad player as people make out but not good enough for our squad nonetheless.

The King of Spain doesn't do goals, he does unstoppable howitzers from distance <ok>
The fact that his moment in the sun was eclipsed less than two minutes later when S****y scored a blinder of their own is academic - KOS scored and I was one of 13,000 there to see that net bulge and ripple. <yikes> <applause> :smiley-finger007: <somersault><bubbly>:emoticon-0171-star:

I have been a great defender of Morro but that was a poor showing to be fair a lot of the service he got was poor too Tierney overhit 3 crosses to him and you could see his frustration but he has to make it happen too, C Martin was C Martin he will not cut it at PL he should have gone and Vaughan stay

You have to weigh the possibility that season of regular football on loan could make him a really amazing player against but part performances this season.

I think a season loan works out best all round for us.

I think we should commemorate last night's historic milestone.....by printing a limited edition t-shirt " I was there when the King scored".

Sadly, only 13,116 available, one for each person who witnessed this phenomenon - don't worry, Beef, one may end up on ebay before too long :emoticon-0105-wink: <laugh>
