Gutted personally but not worth keeping if money is his main motive. Should walcott leave where would you rather sell him. The main contenders appear to be liverpool and man city. In addition there are less than three days left in the transfer window. Where do you think our priorities should be. IMO we need a utility defensive player and a striker..possibly a winger too though he needn't be an over priced one. This is because i don 't really have a great deal of faith in gervinho but i honestly believe gnabry can step up.

I can't help thinking that this is a distraction that we could do without. With three days left in the transfer window, I'd rather we were concentrating on negotiating with new players, than trying to tie up deals with existing ones.

Personally I'd be gutted to lose Walcott and losing three first team players in one window would be a bitter pill to swallow

Arsenal have failed to reach an agreement with England winger Theo Walcott over a contract extension, but talks are ongoing.

Well it is on the official BBC website and I still respect them for journalistic integrity as they have almost always been right. I am with Piskie I would be sad to lose walcott but especially Annoyed we got rid of 3 first team players from last season and arguably 3 of the best performing ones. I don't know about the figures but I would genuinely like that we sign him to a new contract while focusing on bringing other players in. I said it when we sold RVP we need to stop the bleeding we are not going to buy an attacking WF in the next three days who scored 8 goals and got 8 assists in the next 3 days and even if we tried it is just one more person we need to find in next 3 days.

On another note what about Fellani seeing as Everton are still not financially secure my guess a bid in the region of 10-15mn and prob a contract of between 60-75k, but will be hard to get everton to sell seeing as there are 3 days left and they just sold Rodwell but still worth a shout. Plus he gives us a plan B by sticking him upfront with 10 mins to go if we need to go the direct route.

I'd like to see a new striker brought in, plus a winger, a midfielder and a defender. 2 out of 4 would be OK

Leaving it this late means it's very unlikely we'll get any really good players and it's likely we'll end up with nothing or some joke signings. We were lucky with Arteta last year as Everton needed the money. I can't see them selling us another of their best players tbh.

But I do believe they are still not in the best of financial circumstances so I still think they would have to sell if we came in unfortunately with the start he has had to the season Fellani's price will be more in the 15mn (+) range than 10mn (+) range. Still think as DM options go he would be great. It would also be nice to have a physically imposing MF who is comfortable with the ball at his feet plus him and Arteta had a decent understanding at Everton (but yeah I agree will not be easy especially with 3 days left maybe offer them Ramsey or Diaby)

We've got no idea what has been going on behind the scenes, or for how long.

    vP scored the goals.
Theo & Song created the goals.
Between them, didn't Theo & Song get something approaching 30 assists last year!?

No wonder Arsenal are struggling with their 3 most productive players seemingly being sold together in one window. SERIOUS reinvestment is now required.

They bought him for nearly 20 million so unfortunately his asking price will be that or more, whichwould certainly put us off. And to mas2204, that's a fair point and hopefully Arsenal surprise me.

The trouble is that selling Walcott becomes problematic if you consider that Oxlade-Chamberlain isn't ready to be starting every game out on the wing. Gervinho and OC can play on the right, and Gervinho and Podolski can play on the left ... but that leaves us ridiculously short of quality backup on the wing. If Arshavin was in a position to play (and I mean actually play this time) it would be alright, but otherwise we have a problem.

Arshavin can play, but he can't track back.
Cazorla out wide and Arshavin as AM?
    Sign Jesus Navas?

This was all set to be the best summer I've ever seen from Arsenal - RvP signing a new deal, and Theo, Song staying, reinforcing with Cazorla, Pod & Giroud, selling Chamakh, Bendy, Squillster etc. I was genuinely psyched for a title challenge. Now the 3 most productive players from last season have gone or seem to be going, the newbies are failing to fire, and Arsenal once again stand to make huge profits on transfers, despite telling everyone they had 25m from property investment to spend.

15m from Song, 24m from RvP, potentially 12m from Theo - that's 51m. Plus the 25m from property is SEVENTY-SIX MILLION to spend.
Cazorla for 15m, Pod for 12m, Giroud for 12m is 39m. That leaves 37m to spend.

I'm expecting AT LEAST 2, and likely 3 players coming in, and I'm expecting quality. Right now I feel very let down.

Totally agree, whilst we do not know what is going on behind the scenes seems to be a lot of disharmony. You have to question whether this uncertainty is down to the board being split.

We've played two extremely negative spoiling teams in Sunderland and Stoke for the first two fixtures. We would expect results like those at any other time- because they're the first two it becomes a 'scoring crisis'

Still happy with the players we have brought in but RVP was always a reality but Walcott (think he will sign) and Song was something no one was expecting. It is just like last few summers, we take one step forward and one step back. If we sign a quality DMF (mvilla, fellani) and attacking player (str,wf,am) then even after the player losses I feel we will be stronger than we were last season. But on the new players not firing - that is to be expected not worried about them they will take time but they are quality.

And against Liverpool, who should be more attacking and open they will get more opportunities to make an impact conversely our 'new' defence should get a sterner test.
