Can you rephrase the OP? Admitted? Did they have a gun against his head or something? One thing I can absolutely guarantee - call me an ITK if you will - is that bookies will always have good or bad money from people. Mmmm... So an out of work manager is touted around by a bookies mouthpiece on the radio ooking to drum up some business... mmmm...
It's easy money for the bookies. In most instances you are betting on the result of a real event, but if you can make up an event (with the help of a friendly journo or two) that doesn't have a winner you take ALL of the the money and have no chance of losing. The problem is that once someone has come up with a "story" other lazy journos copy it and it becomes more credible as it start appearing everywhere. "They can't all be wrong, can they?" It's fraud really, but you try proving it.
Why of course I can. Before I do so, try Googling the following text: A Betfred spokesman has just admitted on Talksport that they've had good money from people usually in the know for Harry Redknapp As you will see this is verbatim the same OP on the Newcastle, Sunderland and Reading boards!
Ummm... I don't need to "Google" anything before I post, or copy and paste for that matter. A mind of your own. It's a wonderful thing.

Always suspected this comment in Talksport was a load of sphericals! I imagine it got a few mugs to part with some cash though.
