http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19388199 Joey Barton's loan move from Queens Park Rangers to Marseille could be back on, according to Rangers manager Mark Hughes. Barton had earlier written on Twitter: "Doesn't look like this Marseille thing is going to happen now." But Hughes said: "The Marseille ordeal may not be dead in the water." Barton's agent Willie Mackay also believes a deal involving Marseille midfielder Stephane Mbia moving to Loftus Road could be reignited. "I think you will find that maybe a deal will happen on Wednesday with Joey flying out to Marseille and Stephane Mbia will arrive at QPR," he said. âThis option has attracted Joey's enthusiasm so hopefully it is concludedâ Mark Hughes QPR Manager Mackay told BBC Radio 5 live there had been developments between QPR chairman Tony Fernandes and Vincent Labrune, the president of Marseille. Speaking after his side's 3-0 Capital One Cup victory over Walsall, Hughes added: "We might be able to get a solution for everybody. This option has attracted Joey's enthusiasm so hopefully it is concluded." Earlier this week Barton, 29, had claimed he was close to a move to the French side. "Hopefully QPR and Marseille can finalise the deal in the next few days," the former Manchester City and Newcastle player said. "My heart is already in the Velodrome." But the player revealed the move looked to have fallen through and he added: "Been forced to go back to training with the kids." Barton is currently serving a 12-match ban after being sent off against Manchester City on the final day of last season, and he was also fined six weeks' wages and stripped of the captaincy by Hughes. Barton spent a week training with League Two side Fleetwood Town after he was left behind while Rangers toured Malaysia in pre-season. *************************************************************************************** The will he, wont he suspense is frazzling my nerves... Just on SSN they have a reporter in a car with Joey and his agent on their way to the airport to fly to Marseille. Apparently his agent Mckay is very close with the Marseille president and the deal will go through this afternoon
"Are you ready to go, Joey love?" "Yes, dear." "Got everything?" "Yes, I think so. Let me see. Phone, wallet, agent, tame journalist ..... Yes, I've got everything." He don't do things by half does he. As I said before, pure pantomime.
If it is just a loan we could have the same problem in 12 months time. He will still have 9 matches left on his ban.
He's an absolute clown, the sooner we see the back of him the better... We can worry about the end of the loan when it happens, out of sight, out of mind, which is all I want from Joseph right now... I hope the ticket to Marseille is one way...
All Joey has to do is a give a clenched fist salute to the curve the first time he gets to play at OM and the fans will forgive him anything. Score the winner against PSG and he'll achieve god status.
Pantomime, I think it will turn into a Movie as it looks like they forgot something "Baby Home Alone 3"
Keep your eyes peeled on ssn, they are traveling with Barton to marsielle today. So hopefully it all goes well.
