If you look at him on paper he should have been as good as anyone in world football by now. I think Arsenal dropped the ball years ago with him.

I played at times but very rarely, learnt more about the game when I decided to buy FIFA, watch games and then slowly gained knowledge.. Somehow..

Agree with this. I coach a kids team and all a lot of coaches want to do is boot it to the big kid up front and win trophies. No player developement at all.

So everyone wants to be Tony Pulis and Fat Sham rather than Arsene Wenger, Pep Guardiola and all others who enjoy playing football properly.

The more you learn about coaching and other coaches ideas the more I start to resent some of the morons that coached us when we were younger. I remember learning more down the park with my mates than I ever did at a training session.

Well thats just it... It shouldn't be about winning it should be able getting better. Kids have their whole life to learn how to lose lol. One thing I dont agree with though is this 'everyone gets a trophy' bullshit that has come in with kids clubs.

I played RB throughout my local teams youth teams, however I had the best guy on the team infront of me at RM and he seemed to have unlimited stamina, meaning I could either just pass to him and sit back or go and hit a wild shot and scream AVE IT, looking back I was never a great team player lol.

However I have learnt so much more now I am not playing but analysing while watching games, I have to agree games like FIFA and FM do really help understand some aspects of the game.

I am looking to go into coaching and feel like I can do my part getting kids playing the right football, I do not know where to do my coaching badges though, any recommendations? I was thinking of doing them here in England and then maybe going abroad to Holland or Spain, learn some things where the focus is on technical ability not physical.

If you coach a kids team the the club will put you in for it. They'll probably pay for it too. Most clubs do.

I did a level 1 and 2 off my own back as I needed them for a job offer I had in the states. I was in the states for almost 2 years and I learnt more about football there than I ever did here by playing alone.

You can do them at your local FA or as Blueman says you can get them through your local junior teams. Alot of the local kids teams here just have parent coaches and they would love to have a hand on a Saturday morning.

Yeah that's right. Parent coaches would love a hand. It's a good way to start. If you take over a team though, I wouldn't do it on your own. Do it with someone else so you can share the workload.

Kids as young as 8 are professionally coached in the states, some upto 3 times a week! They play in huge purpose built complexes and have all the latest kit. We are light years behind in comparison.

.. A far cry from the gravel covered tennis courts we were forced to play on. Every tackle meant ripping your skin open lol

Maybe this is why English players dont dive?? lol

Walcott refused 75k/week deal at arsenal, don't think we'd want to pay anywhere those wages for a player who is most famous for being pick by Sven for England and then not even played despite all the forwards being injured!

I honestly feel the only team stupid enough to give in to his wage demands is man city. Don't see why you guys would want him with sterling just beginning to break into the team.

    1. arsenal are muck... lets just leave it at that eh?

    2. ben arfa is a joker... nobody pays a blinds bit of attention.

    3. walcott at 15mil is better value than dempsey at 10... due to age and pace... even if he's a bit of a lightweight

    4. city want sinclair but walcott could be their back up option.... or they could want him more who knows....

Walcott is a LFC fan and wants regular playing time which is what we can give him. We can't compete financially with MCFC but we may have a chance of attracting him.

I think you will struggle to find one Arsenal fan who thinks Walcott is actually worth more than the £75k they are offering him, It's a hell of a lot for a player who stagnated a few years ago, He's better than Downing but that doesn't say all that much,..
