to be fair they needed a league striker considering they have to rely on Oli as their back up <laugh>

He's not crap, he's mighty fine. But everyone warned us we'd love him and then, well, go off him a bit. So we laughed in their face when he tore up the division for two months or so, including destroying Crawley at their place, but then slowly he got less and less interested. Which was a shame.

CJS - you was right from the beginning <ok>

The funny part is I actually thought he was not a bad player, I just felt he had become lazy. Who is to blame for that, the manager, player or both. I have said before, I still partly blame Tomlin's injury on that course of events. We run the guy in to the ground to deliver for Kuffour. It was a case of you knew it was only a matter of time before Tomlin became lame, then the true Kuffour ability or lack of it shone through. I believe that Kuffour has the strength to hold his ground up front, hence has the ability to score goals. Although he has the occasional pace he prefers to rely on others. If Kuffour had Tomlin's pace he would probably be an excellent player, the downside would be he would probably then lose some of his strength, which as I have said, I think he relies on up front.

So the question for Wycombe is can they build their team around him?

The only way I see this working with Oli, is the same way Oli worked with Miller. The difference being Miller had no strength and was easily knocked off the ball. League Two promotion on the back of it? I will say no and be prepared to eat my words with such a commitment but I just cannot see it.

In theory Oli and Kuffour could work well together. Oli could provide that pace that Tomlin offered but I don't think he's the 100m sprinter that he used to be. Well not since he had his competitor in Jackson go to Norwich.

This one could come back to haunt us. Always seems to do quite well against the Gills...
