ZAMBIA striker, Emmanuel Mayuka has confirmed that English Premier League club, Queens Park Rangers (QPR) have offered him a contract but that he is not yet decided.
With the British transfer window closing this Friday, Mayuka of Swiss side Young Boys posted on his tweeter account that QPR had offered him a deal to move to Loftus Road in London.
QPR are reportedly dangling £3.5 million (about K26 billion) to snap up the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) golden boot winner who played a pivotal role in the Chipolopolo’s historic continental triumph.
Despite the tempting offer to move to England, Mayuka said he was yet to make a decision.
“Yes, QPR has offered me a contract but I am not sure if I want to go. You guys comment and tell me whether you want me to stay or leave. I will decide soon. I just need your advice. Thank you,” Mayuka tweeted.
The 21-year-old goal-getter, however, has only three days to make up his mind and possibly conclude the deal before the transfer window slams shut on Friday at midnight.
According to a recent report by British publication, Daily Mirrror, QPR coach Mark Hughes is keen to woo the former Kabwe Warriors player because of his exploits at both club and national level since 2008.
If the deal goes through then Mayuka will become the second Zambian in recent times to trek to England after Collins Mbesuma at Portsmouth.
Meanwhile, Chipolopolo striker Rodgers Kola was on Sunday night sent off in the 23rd minute for a horrible tackle on Lokeren defender Laurens De Bock in a Belgium Jupiler Pro League week five match which KAA Gent won 2-1.
Fourth-placed Gent were at the time down 0-1 from a second minute goal scored by French defender Jeremy Taravel, who found the back of the net after he was put through by Serbia midfielder Milos Maric.
Gent fought gamely and equalised five minutes after Kola’s dismissal when midfielder Bernd Thijs converted a penalty then Christian Bruls netted the winning goal in the hour mark following a pass from Hannes Van der Bruggen.
It was a major setback for Kola, who was making his return to Gent’s starting line-up after watching the previous away match on the bench when the Gentbrugge-based side defeated Waasland-Beveren 0-2.
In the Switzerland Super League, Mayuka was replaced in the 63rd minute by Uruguay-born Swiss striker Matias Vitkieviez as BSC Young Boys were held 0-0 by Lausanne Sports in a week seven game.
Bern-based Young Boys remain fifth with nine points from two wins and three draws in the 10-team league which is being led by Sion who have accrued 16 points.

Sounds promising, just the right sort of player we need now. Young, hungry, got potential and for a relatively small fee. See how it goes....

In two minds about this one... on the plus side he is not chasing the money and has potential and has been watched since 2008 so not a panic buy on the negative is the perceived indecision to leave his club and play in what is billed as the greatest league on the world.

When you're settled in a country and at a club who's treating you well, it's no small thing to pack up and step into the unknown. The lads only 21, and probably won't be in the 1st eleven. The EPL is not the be all and end all of world football, and people would do well to remember that. And let's not start slagging off a player for asking his own fans if they want him to stay eh?!

How refreshing to see a really genuine footballer who's not a complete mercenary. Good luck to the lad in whatever decision he chooses.

#SaintsFC have signed BSC Young Boys' Emmanuel Mayuka for an undisclosed fee on a five-year deal. Work permit sorted.

And by the look of it one of our other targets are heading to Fulham:

#SAFC have confirmed they have accepted an offer, understood to be from #FFC, for full-back Kieran Richardson.

It also looks like Spurs are about to make one hell of a signing and at the same time massively weaken Fulham. If Dempsey leaves too they will be in trouble without proper replacement.

#FFC have just confirmed to me that they have accepted a bid from #Spurs for @mousadembele. Big news.

Exactly why you should take no notice of the bell ends on there.

hopefully this means we will be after a big man rather than someone to play off him, we have 1 big man and 4 or 5 that can feed off him, it makes no sense signing another poacher.
