We had a GX4000, back when my dad used to work for Amstrad. It was so **** they probably paid him to take it away! After that it was PCs and never looked back

 

Lol: actually I believe I watched that tosser throw good money (ok mine) after bad & they still hated him & he didn't understand it just might be because he's an unlikeable Git!

My favourite Sugar story is when he recounts being visited by Bill Gates reps who wanted him to sign over all software rights/licenses for his PC's and he said "couldn't give a monkeys about software. Hardwares where the real money is boys!" I'm sure they chuckled all the way back to the US!

Na, it needed it if only for a little while. IMO the likes of this thread should be all access, anything goes (bar the disaster/death stuff even if at times like earlier it descends into monotonous "I know you are but what am I?" because as shown tonight it can bounce back with concerted effort.

Each board should have a breathing room that keeps Wumming & individual personality clashes to an absolute minimum. While there have been genuine "others" who have respected that; it kinda went downhill today and needed a "clean house"

I'm not often on others boards but from what I hear that's the attitude of mods to outsiders on most threads. We're pretty easygoing mod wise so don't begrudge one strictly moderated area even if genuine folks have to suffer occasionally.

And this wasn't a "it's outsiders fault" post either. Just a step back and see the bigger picture plea.

 

The team you 'choose' to support should not affect the banter in a forum. As an outsider to this forum I base my post on my own knowledge of the game together with a few nigglers here and there that create debate. I hardly ever post anything pro-newcastle I simply join in the banter for the hell of it.

For those of you that wonder why I come on here to debate I will say the same things I always say. The Liverpool forum is by FAR the best one! The others are ok but nobody really has the passion that they have on here. The Manc board is OK if not a bit too serious at times.

Ben; I know when you're being genuine & I know the occasions there's shall we say a "twinkle in your eye" to your posts. Some like your approach, some don't.

As you say this board is very open & despite stereotypes most on here can take a fair bit of winding & give back plenty. But the downside to the popularity of this board & it's liveliness is it attracts the truly unimaginative who throw bile out on threads to destroy them not just heat them up.

If we are to keep the tolerant takes a shed load of abuse to get banned" approach in most threads, I think their needs to be a place those that can't be bothered with the onslaught can go. This actually helps your cause as if they complain about banter on a banter thread they can be pointed to the safe house so to speak.

Now this is all purely my opinion and I know for a fact there are many reds who differ with probably very plausible reasons for doing so.

Is the Newkie board not lively ? It appears to have plenty of threads/posts or is it just that you lot talk a great deal of bollocks
