http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/12691/8027619/Five-clubs-chasing-Spearing I hope the lad gets a good move and i wish him very well..... but a midfield dynamo? Hopefully he can go to southampton and tell ramirez that he should join us after getting his little bit of cash from them.
Spearing would love to stay at Liverpool but imo is just not up to the task, I wish him well if he goes.
I've always thought Spearing was a lot better than people made out, at the back end of the 10/11 season he showed good form in the "Spucas" combination, and he came in last season in a tough period for us which has ultimately proved to be his downfall. It'll be a shame to see him go but he gave us 100% every match and never backed down in a game, and we couldn't ask much more from him than that. I wish him well where ever he may end up and I hope he goes on to have a good carreer.
Good to see clubs are interested, he will have a very good career with any of those 5. Best of luck Jay - go to the one that offers the biggest wages son
The darkest day of Liverpool's modern history is the day when Jay Spearing leaves the club... A tear shall be shed by all
I remember you being a bit of a Spearing fan and then changing your name to show support. He loves the club but just seems to lack the quality to me. Why do you rate him do highly?
I can not fault Spearing one single bit when it comes to effort but I've said before that's what the players are paid to do so he's done well in that sense but quality wise he's not great as we don't go forward enough seeing as though he keeps passing sideways or backwards. You can see already how much of a difference Allen has made with the amount of good forward passes he does. The highlight for me on Sunday was the disguised pass he played to Suarez. It was of top quality and we haven't seen that enough of late since Xabi left. The time is right for spearing to leave and hopefully Adam will leave as well. He's been useless and just isn't performing and will not get into the team anymore.
I don't rate him highly at all, I just think he gets a rough deal because he's not some Spanish magician on the ball. He's a standard squad player which every good squad needs for balance, but he cares for the club and because of that, I'll always be a fan. The name...who knows. It was either going to be Spearing's Mannschaft or Downing's Mannschaft. At least I have a leg to stand on when defending Spearing in a red shirt since he bleeds for it! So, Spearing it was. I also enjoy going overboard on backing him to see what kind of reaction I get each time.
Fair enough, I agree and would be happy enough for him to stay because as you say he loves the club and that means a lot.
You have to give little Jay 100% for effort, as he tries his hardest, but its simply not good enough. Its best for his sake that he moves on. If he does, he has to be wished the best of luck. He's done nothing wrong, he's just limited.
I think for his own career he needs to mvoe on. If he stays, he'll get a few games here and there but at 23 (I think) he needs to go and play first team football week in week out. Who knows, if 3 or 4 years time he may have improved dramatically and might come back a better player. Wish him all the best if he goes, don't think we'll see someone try as hard as him for the red shirt in a long time.
