What you all have to remember about this guy is that he backed Whyte to the gunnels <laugh>

Also, mentioned that McGillivan calling it a "fakeover" was a figment of his imagination.

They only listen to their own voices.

Even mildly dissenting is seen as a betrayal of the fact you're a timmy.

Leave them to it <ok>

Its hard work trying to keep up with the ****wittery of these characters.

I followed Graham on twitter for a wee bit. I don't know about anyone else, but I get torn between wanting to argue down his stupid points or just leaving him to make an arse of himself.

Like Rebel said, they don't learn. That gives me another problem; how long will it take before Newco are right in the **** because it's fans we're too busy being paranoid? This was a long hard summer watching Rangers fold, so I hope this time it's some explosive action and straight to administration rather than the slow burner we had.

Anyone got a fast forward button?

You know those dark comedies that you laugh at but feel slightly uncomfortable for laughing so much? This whole saga leaves me feeling a bit that way, I laugh because it is genuinely funny but then I feel uncomfortable because they are so closed minded, only believe what they feel they should believe and seem to genuinely believe the madness they come out with.

Isn't it weird that only a season ago they were telling us they're 'The Establishment' and what they say goes, now it's the complete opposite and everyone's against them, the poor wee things. It's tragic really...but hilarious at the same time...

This appears to be very true and it remains one of the most astonishing aspects of the whole incredible mess. I'm not sure that it's possible to reason with such people; they seem conditioned not to believe anything that may threaten their worldview, whilst remaining fatally oblivious - perhaps naturally enough - to the trap of their own conditioning. It sometimes feels hopeless even contemplating engaging these people and I can't imagine what it will take to shake them from their moral torpor and intellectual dishonesty. They are a lost cause, perhaps, which feels (to me, at least) like a great shame.

And I resent and reject being called "anti-Rangers" for wishing to see the rules applied fairly. I'm not anti-Rangers and never have been, although I accept that some people, for whatever reason, may take it upon themselves to live their lives so afflicted - I'm merely anti-cheating and corruption.

Hard to say, but I can't imagine it will take too long. A year or so, maybe? Less? I certainly don't trust Charles Green or any of the people circling the club, that's for sure.

And with Ally McCoist reacting to the recent draw with Berwick Rangers by saying that more players ("bodies of quality") were needed, it seems as if the manager - in keeping with what feels like a vast majority of the fans, although I have to trust that the sensible ones are merely having their voices drowned out by the unhinged - has learnt nothing from the past and that this new club/venture may consequently be seen as being pre-ordained by history to fail, just like the old one.

If in doubt: spend.
If in trouble: deflect. And spend.
If feeling backed into a corner: deflect, spend and shout your way out of the chaos, always looking to blame outside agencies and malignant conspirators, whilst failing to look inwards at repeat failings and group-thinking shortcomings and the corrosive impact of a ruinously misplaced sense of superiority and entitlement.

Thank God for Turnbull Hutton and any others in a position of (footballing) authority who may fail to buy into this rubbish - a constant relief when set against the grubbily complicit tossers who inhabit the SPL.

On a sort of related topic, sell out saturday wasn't just about the SPL.

I heard on the Carluke Shamrock podcast that a number of folk got in contact with Raith Rovers in the close season and said they were impressed with Hutton and asked if they could do anything to say thanks. a few folk bought childrens season books (priced at £20). Not just Celtic supporters I hasten to add.

On sell out saturday a number of folk went along to Raith Rovers. I thought that a nice touch.

He's won a great many admirers in this affair and in any revamp of Scottish football you would like to think that men of his calibre would be front and centre.

Back on topic, I am one of those afflicted with being Anti Rangers. That said, i am not incapable of critical analysis. In fact my dislike for Rangers has never come in to this at all....except when indulging an ugly trait of rubbing it in.

It is cause and effect.

They cheat, they lose whatever they gained through cheating.
They liquidate, they are finished.

The new club had to accept the punishment of the Rangers to affect the transfer of share. I can understand that. Otherwise it is a free pass above teams like Spartans etc. Even then it is unfair on those clubs based purely on sporting merit.

Aha, I thought that sell-out Saturday was maybe only an Aberdeen thing.

Anyway, I was sufficiently impressed by Turnbull Hutton to buy one of my nephews - a Wolves fan <doh> living in Spain <doh> <doh> - a Raith Rovers top. It would be something of an exaggeration (more of a lie, really) to say that he was grateful for this gift, but that's not really the point. Plus, I went straight ahead - just like that - and signed up to Roary's Super Lotto, which sees me paying a nominal fee towards Raith Rovers every month. I'll start to wonder at the wisdom of this investment, however, if I've not won the top cash prize (£25,000, I think) some time in the next forty years.

Altruistic, that's me.

I have done nothing to support Raith....only flap my gums a bit.

I love my neighbours. On one side he helped my push my car to safety when it broke down and on the other side he sold me a part for the car at cost price.
They are the kind of neighbours I love.

Everybody needs good neighbours. That's when good neighbours become good friends.

Wise words, Rebel, wise words. They could almost be set to music. (You'll be a bit of a philosopher in your spare time, surely? You can't just pluck these philosophical musings from thin air, after all, it takes practice. I commend your sagacity.)

[h=2]The Fightback Begins[/h]Posted in Uncategorized on August 29, 2012 by billmcmurdo

No sooner had I blogged on coplandroad.org about the need for Rangers fans to fight back and take offence on the offensive than Chris Graham pops out a superb piece on Alex Thomson.

Now George Galloway is the latest to feel the wrath of Rangers fans with the negative publicity surrounding his “windae licker” tweet to one of them.

Rangers fans are learning how to play the game.

For far too long bluenoses have been the victims of a concerted campaign based on invented hurts and pretend offences. Every misdemeanour of Rangers supporters has been pounced upon and used as a weapon against the club. A protracted media initiative has seen the words “sectarian” and “bigot” become synonyms for Protestant and Rangers supporter.

Well, the line has now been drawn and Rangers fans globally have had enough. As the old song says, “From the mountains and the glens, we are on the march again.”

There is a resolve growing among Gers supporters that they will never again allow people to kick the club when it is down as in recent times.
Rangers FC has been punished beyond any reasonable measure in what amounts to the Scottish Inquisition conducted by the SFA/SPL cabal which controls the game here in Scotland. This cabal has pounced upon sloppy practices in Rangers dealings to inflict ridiculous sanctions on the club.
Well, the sloppy and dodgy dealings of others are now fair game for inquisitive Rangers fans, of whom there are more than a few. From now on, each and every indiscretion carried out by SFA/SPL officials will be getting brought into the public domain and redress demanded by a vigilant Rangers support.

From now on, every slight and every instance of bigotry and injustice directed toward Rangers will be dealt with appropriately. PA announcers, BBC newscasters and others who like to use the name “Sevco,” take note. People who like to poke fun at Rangers’ plight, take note.

Now people might think this a very petty approach. Absolutely! It’s as petty as can be.

But Rangers have been deluged with pettiness for decades now by the perpetually “offended” and others who hate the club. The game is pettiness – petty comments, petty remarks, petty grievances, petty hurts. Rangers have been fair game for far too long to anyone with a laptop or pen and paper. Well, Rangers fans have laptops too. And, astonishing as it may be, some can actually write letters.

Now historically what Rangers fans have not been good at is being petty. Most considered themselves above that. But as I said, Rangers fans are learning how to play the game.
And they are fast learners.
Just ask George Galloway…

I was going to add my own comments but I would not know where to start.

Absolutely cringeworthy, especially the "Sevco" bit <doh>

Only a rangers fan would think walking away from 135m is punishment.

No, I was calling you "City", it's just that I forgot to put a comma between the words "saga" and "city".

As in: "I commend your saga, City."

(I've been meaning to call you "City" for a wee while now, as it happens, but simply lacked the courage and inclination to do so.)

Now this chap, on the other hand, is definitely calling you gay, Rebel. I'd be surprised to see you let him get away with it, tbh.
