To be fair to Guru, I think that Blackpool are one of the better teams in this league and will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season. Their flair players are probably the difference between them and the rest of the league. The rest of this post if quite frankly stupid and a waste of all your breathes. There is point scoring between 2 local rivals which is so stupid it amazes me. We have both been hammered this season and have both picked up points in the other match(es) - ie cancelling each other out. I think Norwich should have got more from the QPR match and in all honesty I can see QPR struggling this season. Hughes appears to be the worst cheque book manager since Keane. We have got a lightweight squad which we know needs additions to get anywhere decent in the near future. I dont think any town fan was expecting much other than a hit and miss season and so far thats what its been (most of our polls suggested a mid table finish realistically). Similarly I imagine Norwich fans will be happy with the odd heavy defeat as long as they can keep out of the bottom 3 in what everybody knows could turn into second season syndrome.
well done for constructing a decent post out of all this crap! blackpool look a good side and have done for some time but much will depend on whether they can keep ince and (matt) phillips, which is one of the reasons why i didn't tip them to go up this year as i think they'll lose one or maybe both of them - i absolutely love the way they play the game under holloway - the shackles are well and truly off! as for qpr, they were terrible and no matter how much money they continue to throw at that lot, they need to find some quality or they will be in the bottom few again. mark hughes is such an overrated manager! how we didn't beat them i'll never know but it just wasn't our day. we weren't helped by a dubious call on the penalty where zamora's goal really shouldn't have stood, but hey ho. we should have won the game regardless as there was a gulf between the teams. imagine, if you will, that you'd failed to score in the final seconds against watford the other night - by all accounts you totally battered them but just couldn't seem to find a goal until finally it came. imagine how you'd have felt after that game if you'd failed to get the winner. that's how we feel after the r's game. just pleased to see us perform well, even if the result didn't go our way. plenty to build on.
In all fairness to myself, If C-Rud would have answered the question in the first place and not started acting Tory MP'ish, it would have been sorted about 20 posts back!
What gets me about Supers is that its alright for him to make a prediction based on 2 games like he did in the case of West Brom but its wrong for anyone else to do so! Rank hypocracy in my book!
warky, please try and pay attention i predicted west brom to go down BEFORE the season started! my point is that i'm not suddenly going to change my tip or any other based on two games of football. i used west brom as an example of why you can't judge on two games of football. maybe instead, i should have used a previous example of a team getting off to a flyer and still going down. how about black country friends of west brom, wolverhampton, who were top after three games and three wins last season. honestly, is it really that hard to understand...???
Hey JWM, listen to the blokes prediction. This is the man who said if anybody else even links Lambchop to Villa he would piss himself because it was so far fetched! Supers = The Mark Lawrenson of Not606
oh no! i got a prediction wrong. i went on gut feeling (which is all a prediction is) and it turned out to be untrue. i'm so ashamed. if we want to look back at old predictions, would you like me to dig out all the 'norwich are going back down to league one' predictions you lot blurted out every five minutes, or how about the 'our team is much better than norwich's' or 'holt won't score goals in the championship/premier league' etc etc etc... there are honestly far too many to find. out of interest, last season i predicted norwich would finish 13th (close) and ipswich 15th (bang on), so not too bad i suppose. mind you, i said wolves would come 10th
Hi, no I like a good argument its just when people try to work out if a brown stick is more brown than sticky I think its a waste of time and effort.
This thread is getting on for a 100 posts just because we have argued the toss for 90% of them! Usually the threads on here only go to 20 if we're lucky!
if any of you are going to your game tonight (i guess yorkie might be seeing as he's up that way, sort of) can they let me know about how well carlisle play seeing as i predicted them to go up this year! thanks you never know, IF we both get through we could even draw each other
I have mixed feelings about tonight! Half of me wants us to get comprehensively beaten to drive another nail in Jewell's coffin.
really?! are things really that bad warky??? i can't ever recall wanting my team to lose. i came close in an fa cup game once when roeder was in charge but even at the match i still felt myself wanting us to win. as it happens, we lost and he got the boot! anyway, back to carlisle - i rate them, i think they're a good side with an excellent manager in greg abbott - could do a job at a higher level in my opinion. good eye for a player. it'll be a tough game for you
