I don't have a membership card, although I do have a fan ID number now. This was obtained by going to the ticket office and trying to get the lady to register me at a foreign address. She became slightly confused, giving up in the end, simply giving my full address as FRANCE. Since then using my ID number I have ordered tickets on-line and pick them up from the collection desk. This is all well and good when I can make an early decision to go to a game and happen to be in the Watford area. However if I happen to be down in Dorset and suddenly get the urge to go then it is likely that I will not have computer access or my ID number. Do I travel up and simply say that I am registered with you, sell me a ticket please? If so they might just as well have a cash turnstile or two and cut down on the queuing. I really think that a number of people would go to games if they could make spur of the moment decisions. Nice day, what is going on at the Vic? Let's pop down and see what they are like these days. I know some people who will never be regulars, but will go from time to time if it is as easy as popping into a pub.
Thanks W_y. Perhaps I should look into getting a membership card although Frenchie's experience isn't reassuring.
I should have said that they will not send tickets to France, they have to be collected at the ground.
You can purchase a ticket on the day using the fan ID number - yes it means queuing at the ticket office, but my suggestion to is go there early when there are no queues and then go for a beer or whatever else you fancy and then go straight in when you want to go into the ground. I suppose it's a trade off with the cost of employing staff to man the cash turnstile and issue a set of allocated seats - with all sweater grounds cash turnstiles are difficult to manage.
I cannot vouch for it as I haven't tried it out yet, but I believe that I can get into the ground at Chateauroux by going through a turnstile which has a debit card reader in it using the same system that exists on the autoroutes and car parks. If that is so it is quick and simple. You then go into one of the stands that has unreserved seating.
I have a wet leg as my ice pack has just broken. Will the new arrival have dual nationality I wonder? Good luck to her throughout her life.
Non sense really, should be tickets to buy on the day. I have a fan ID number but I don't know it or have a card, when I went at the start of last season I just called up and gave them my surname, they found me on their system and they kept the tickets at the ground for me. Would that still work?
what w_y said congratulations to mum, dad and the baby's head wetter That would still work ..you're on the system, you have a fan ID, that's all they need to sell you a ticket a the ticket office or over the phone
Morning all from Paris, which is slightly overcast but the sun is expected to burn through today I shall be returning to Blighty after a lovely long weekend so it will be trip to the local street market and a walk down to my favourite sports shop (Decathalon) just for a wander round! Well that's what I have told her indoors anyway have great day one and all
Morning all, cloudy start with a shower to come this morning? Watched a bit of French football on TV last night. Nantes v Le Mans, won 2-0 by Nantes. Very poor technical standard, but lots of rushing around. Le Mans have a new 25,000 seater stadium while the average attendance for their home games is under 6,000. Nantes stadium holds 38,000 yet the average attendance for them is under 13,500. It seems that relegation from the top division here can be just as bad for a club as it is in England.
