West Ham fans didn't seem to rate him?? The vast majority who I saw on here were gutted, and others just angry he'd chosen to leave them. Green is a quality keeper, he's just had a bad time of it in pre-season and that carried on in to the first game.

We would have undoubtedly been getting another new keeper as well as green once Paddy decided to move on, whether the intention was to sign one of the quality of Cesar is unlikely, but having had a golden nugget thrown in his lap by his agent, would you expect Hughes to turn him down?

I do feel sorry for Green, but if he's a man he will fight for his place. Either way we now have one of the worlds best keepers, if all goes through, and this will give the defense more confidence and make us stronger. Not really many negatives for us fans, just a headache for Hughes to resolve.

I don't think Hammers fans who are on here are representative of all Hammers fans. I have heard different stories about what they thought about Green, but got the impression that most were glad he's gone.

Oslo, when I was saying that Green was an established keeper I was not talking about established at our club, I was talking about being an establish top flight and international keeper. Think it may cause further problems having two keepers of that stature at our club. Both have played a lot of top flight football and have international experience. Normally a club has a recognised No 1 and a good understudy. I really can't see any other Prem club with two keepers of such experience both of whom could easily be No1. Lindergard at Utd may be a very good prospect but has not established himself at either club or international level yet.

I'm not convinced Green is an established top flight or international keeper any more anyway, but understand what you mean! I hope we can sell Green or loan him out, but wonder who would want him.

To buy Green in the first place MH must have been convinced he could do a job and that just doesn't change in a couple of games or Green was forced on him, or he wasn't sure about getting Caser.

With player power as it is, I don't see that Green would have signed a contract to sit on the bench, same for Caser, so this is either inspired business or really bad, did we sign a larger salaried keeper just to loan him to a side who will probably not pay all his wages ?

We got green on a free and his wages aren't as much as the 50k a week that the papers were harping on about. This meant that he was a great signing as it left money in the kitty.

Tend to agree. Just think it may cause more discontentment if he has to suit on the bench week in and week out

QPR close in on Inter Milan keeper Julio CesarAug 28, 2012 0 comments 0

London calling: Cesar set to become the latest big-name recruit at QPR.

Two years ago he was lifting the European Cup with Internazionale, but now Julio Cesar's ambitions will be set on helping Queens Park Rangers avoid a season-long relegation battle.

Brazilian international Cesar is set to complete a move to Loftus Road within the next 24 hours, according to reports, becoming the ninth new signing at the club this summer.

Cesar has been on the lookout for a new club all summer after Inter swooped to sign Samir Handanovic from Udinese and immediately installed Slovenian as the club's new No1.

A move to Tottenham was mooted earlier this month, but it now looks increasingly likely the 32-year-old will link up with ambitious QPR after arriving in London on Monday to tie up the deal.

The news will be a bitter blow to England keeper Robert Green who only joined the club earlier this summer from West Ham.

But his disastrous debut against Swansea when he shipped five goals has seen Hughes take drastic action with Cesar likely to be handed the No1 jersey.

Should he complete the formalities of his move he could be in line for a baptism of fire with QPR's next Premier League clash a trip to the champions Manchester City.

Cesar may not be the only new face at the club before Friday's transfer deadline with the club retaining an interest in Tottenham's Michael Dawson despite the player rejecting a move to the club last week.

QPR had a £9million bid accepted by Spurs, but failed to agree personal terms with the 28-year-old, who is believed to be holding out for interested parties Sunderland and Stoke to make their intentions clear.

A loan deal for Real Madrid's Ricardo Carvalho has also stalled as Hughes looks to bolster his defensive line in the wake of their embarrassingly defeat to Swansea on the opening day.

Green was awful in pre-season, not just one game against Swansea! However I would like to see him stay as having two goalies of International calibre can only be a good thing.

3 year contract on 80k a week, thats exactly Bartons contract so maybe hes being sacked to free up the money.

Its a done deal folks, he turned down Roma and Spurs.

Julio Cesar set to finalise QPR transfer after agreeing terms

QPR are on the cusp of signing Inter Milan goalkeeper Julio Cesar after fending off interest from Tottenham.

..The 32-year-old Brazil international is surplus to requirements at Inter following the arrival of Samir Handanovic from Udinese last month, but has had no shortage of interest.

Cesar turned down a move to Roma earlier in the summer before opening talks with Tottenham, but his hopes of moving to the Premier League looked dashed a fortnight ago, when Andre Villas-Boas refused to meet his significant wage demands.

However, following Rob Green's nightmare debut in Rangers' season opener against Swansea, QPR stepped in and have now reached an agreement to bring Cesar to Loftus Road as their new first choice.

The signing is seen as a notable coup for Mark Hughes' men, with Cesar bringing a wealth of top level experience, having won 12 domestic trophies during his time in Italy, including five Serie A titles, plus the Champions League in 2010.

Cesar has been in London since Monday wrapping up the move, but it has dragged on after QPR failed to agree terms on a deal with Inter, but that has now been sorted, with a nominal fee changing hands.

He is now expected to complete the transfer in the next 24 hours, after passing a medical.

Cesar will sign a three-year-contract, and will be on reported wages of £80,000-a-week.

Whilst it's a good signing, it makes our club look like a joke. I do not buy in to what Hughes said about always wanting to bring 2 goalkeepers in.

The joke is likely to be a lot sicker if we keep on playing Green!
