Personally I'm a big GDS fan but he's been with us for four years now and barely got a game so something needs doing.

Dos Santos has a year left on his contract and shows no intention of playing for us.
Willian wants to join or at least to leave Shakhtar, so I'd prefer to have the player that actually wants to be at the club.

The people at Sky Sports News must absolutely love us.
What's it like supporting a side that has boring transfer windows where very little happens and everything's sorted out early on?
Good for the nerves, I suspect.

Agreed. Gotta be very careful. This is the issue ive had with remy. Sometimes you've gotta pay the extra to get the real quality. Otherwise you spend the figure you mention, then you realise you've signed what you already had in the first place. That's the danger. But not the case all the time.

You could've said the same thing about Berbatov and Leverkusen in 2006 or Valencia at Wigan in 2009, Lidls.
You may be right, but it really isn't that simple.

have to say I dont have a good feeling about this willian lad, he has been playing in a crap league and i guess he thinks he is something special because he can do 10 step overs before skinning some ukraine "defender" lets see how he gets on in the premier league with his fancy skills.

Why cant we just spend big, on someone of real quality like the others have said above, we have always been missing that one real big signing.

and as for gds, that was redknapps fault for not giving the lad a chance, not to say he would have been a success but even players like pires and henry, two of the best talents brought to this league took time to settle so i would rather avb took a chance on gds then wasted 15 million on willian.

Or teams may have bought the likes of Denilson and Julio Baptista, instead.

More famous for the number of club fines he incurred. The fines ranged from incidents on the training ground, incidents off the field, incidents involving vandalism, incidents involving asault and incidents involving criminal damage.

Yes, a talented footballer, but no surprise we didn't give him much of a chance. Sometimes other factors have to come into the equation.

We could've had a 3 (in the 4-2-3-1) of Taarabt, Boateng and Dos Santos.
    Talented individuals, but...

Well if it's true that they were holding out for over £27mill when Chelsea were in for him last season then you can understand why he's not been pursued by the major European clubs.

Silly season is in full flow right now this Fail article has us bidding for Willian, Dzagoev, Loris and Dembele, whilst we are interested in M'Vila and Anderson. Good work covering all the bases there :D

Just read that Julio Cesar is about to sign for QPR, did we miss something or is Loris the preferred target?

Roo has been the summer transfer speculation King!

Not a day goes by without him telling us who we are after or who has left.

What bothers me is that not even Roo in his make believe world has got rid of Jenas for us<laugh>

    I hope it is Lioris.

I like Friedel but his insistence to stick to his goal line is costing us.

This is our make or break week Perryman...we have the Money in the pot now.

Set your clocks for 11.55pm Friday people!
That's when it will all happen.
Wonder if AVB will do car interviews a la Arry?
