Think he scored 12 goals and got a similar number of assists last year. Frustrating and does go missing but when he's on form he's a handful. I don't think you can say he's as bad as Downing and has no end product when the stats show it's not true.
Wouldn't say no to Walcott. A lot of pace and can play as a striker, can finish well at times. I imagine Brendan could use him on the wing too.
Walcott was in a team that finished 3rd, though, that tells you that perhaps someone better was on the end of the ball to convert (RVP) or that a goal he scored was setup by a better player. I realise he's not actually as bad as Downing, but accepting Arsenal's cast-offs while they go for the likes of Afellay (available on loan) is not the way to get us top 4
So you're saying we shouldn't sign players from teams that performed better than us last year, because the players probably aren't as good because the played with better players themselves? You don't think Gerrard, Suarez, Allen, Sahin would be able to create the sort of chances that Song, Rosicky & Gervinho created last year for Arsenal? And I don't think he's a cast off. He's a player that is in the last year of his contract and is stalling on signing a new deal. Did United & Barca get Arsenal cast offs in RVP & Song? Exactly the same situation, both in last year of contract and stalling on signing new deals so they cashed in before losing on a free.
At the end of the day I don't think Walcott would get into our starting XI to be frank! I think Gerrard, Sterling and even Assaidi would be wing options ahead of Walcott (who we would still have to pay cerca £10m for I reckon)
You think someone that has never played in the Premiership and who you probably have seen nothing of (apart from a few youtube clips) would be a better option than Walcott who has 3/4 years experience and last year out performed any of our current wingers? I'm not saying Assaidi won't be, just right now Walcott would walk in ahead of him and Downing in my opinion.
Yes but you are assuming Walcott would be free, he wouldn't, he would cost us a lot still I reckon! and when the policy is very much "one in one out" I feel there are better targets to go for for the money.
I'm not assuming he's free. He'd cost over £10mil and when have we had a "one in one out" policy? If we get rid of Cole, Spearing & Adam then that would free up space anyway. I'm not saying we should sign him, just that saying he is as bad as downing & has no end product isn't true when facts from last year back this up.
You have 4 days to sign Theo. Hurry up please. The sooner he goes, the sooner we get someone who doesn't think you can run straight through defenders.
And there's a reason to say no there. Thanks Kyle. That's like us telling a team take Downing please..... I think he's yet another of the great English hopes that have failed on all the stages that matter. Last year of contract & wages. Let's see how the cheap winger we bought does before we splash the cash. January is another window & he'd be 6 months left which would be even cheaper.....
Out of the 4 players we've brought in so far, only 1 is from the Premier League. If you're going to wum, at least make it accurate. Or are you still living in 2011?
Again you're wrong. I think you'll find Chavski wanted to keep Borini but he left for first team football plus I'm betting you know as much about Assaidi as anyone else. You're doing a decent job so far of making yourself look a bit of a tit. Carry on...
So Lampard, Cole and so on were mid-table players when you bought them? Just because of the team they played for? Is Antonio Valencia average too? He played for Wigan after all.
Just for the record Borini is not a Chelsea reject, they tried to agree a contract but he moved else where. Just saying
