Plus Liverpool are a genuinely big club and still have a high profile throughout Europe, and obviously Rodgers and Mourinho are good friends and that clearly helped. I know no details have been announced so my point is based purely on guess work but I'm guessing this "deal" with them will see the following: First choice on their cast offs. A friendly next pre-season. They get 1st preference on any of our players - basically becomming their feeder team. Bale has been mentioned as a RM target before, so it really wouldn't surprise me if Madrid has made this partnership to sweeten up their relationship with us and come next summer, will hope they can snare Bale for a mediocre price with some cast offs/ loans coming in our direction - which no doubt we'll accept because we're such good friends with them.
