I'm really not enjoying this any more...

Though I mainly view and only post occasionally, I like the way OLM mods this site and adds a sane perspective when things get heated. I'd like to add my support for OLM and repeat the call for him to reconsider stepping down.

I really enjoy coming on this site for info and the banter. I think you have done a top job on here, with your moderating and informative posts, thank you.

Personally hoping that OLM does stay on.
If I was doing it I'd very quickly reduce the numbers of poster by banning a few.
I'm far too intolerant to do the job.

 

I can't see that happening to be honest! I have to say though, I don't think I'd stray too far from the OLM blueprint when it came to moderating. What can you really do apart from lock threads and delete posts? I might be sad, but there's a limit. Messing with the posts of others crosses the line

Modding and administrating any forum is usually a thankless task - only last week after 6 years as admin or mod on a large xbox forum i decided to quit .
Its not the thanks or praise you look for but just that everyone can get along or at least co-exist without going mental .

The worst part is when people dont think you can detach from being the footie fan/gamer to being a Mod ,

Got to add that this forum is being run really well !!

 

I only do that when it's less heavy handed than the alternative of deleting the post completely. (or to tidy up if someone has quoted a post that's been deleted)
