I agree with this actually. I'm happy for Spearing to stay, he aint the best in the world but as you say the best in the world cost a lot and don't like sitting on the bench for long. I guess if he wants to go then fair enough and I wish him all the best. He's definitely good enough to play Prem football and would be a class little player for any Championship team.

Cole I also wish well if he does go but its good for us if we can shift him on. Just didn't work out with the lad and his wages are mental.

He was exactly the player who sprang to my mind as well. He was never rated by anybody but still got best part of 300 appearences, won a few leagues and played a full European Cup Final <doh> mad really

Mmm......Fat Sham's certainly no oil painting is he.

On topic,I hope we can offload Cole. The whole saga has been an (expensive) disaster

If Spearing goes, does it mean Adam stays?

Given the choice I would rather keep Jay for League cup/early FA cup games and
back up for Lucas/Allen should we need it.
The little Adam offers is well covered by a now stronger midfield IMO.

Great news if true. Iv got nothing against Cole but it just hasn't worked.

Spearing, although has his heart in the right place, isn't quite good enough,

exactly why i think we should keep hold of spearing. United have had those kind of players for years, average prem players who are so loyal to ferguson and the team that they sit on the bench for years and when needed come and give their all; o'shea, wes brown, phil neville, silvestre, saha, park etc...

and these are just the ones that spring to mind.

If we are serious about trying to get back into the top 4 players like Spearing, Adam and Downing are just not good enough to get us there. Sure I agree with most saying that Spearing tries his hardest but that's what he's paid to do like the others. Whoever doesn't put in 100% when fit consistently can leave I.e. Joe Cole, he's been a very disappointing signing always getting injured and not really had an effect on the team. Hopefully spearing, Adam and cole get moved on allowing us to get dempsey and possibly Sturridge.

Hardly world beaters but good enough to do a job when called on as is Spearing IMO. If he does leave I'd like to see one of the youngsters moved up into that squad role and put the money into improving our options up front.
