every once in a while I come across some users discussing football on this forum. never heard of this player, if we are to get a left back it should be someone who improves the side ie. better than fox rather than worse than fox and better than shaw
Certainly more inclined to read a thread relating to a new transfer rumour,than the official summer rumour thread,or any of the off topic or word association threads.Although not our highest priority position, the fact we were after Buttner,and now this guy shows that Nigel doesnt think Fox is up to the Premier league,and Shaw isnt ready yet.
Much rather have a new thread started for rumours like this rather than the transfer rumour thread, which is basically incomprehensible, hence why I don't read it.
Having thought about it I tend to agree that sometimes these threads are easier to digest. I have to admit that it is a lot easier to catch the actual rumour without needing to delve through pages of unrelated twaddle before finding anything remotely connected to a rumour. As for some of the words being Americanised all you need to do is add it to the dictionary when you come across such a problem. Will be interesting to see if this rumour has any legs in it and if it does how it affects the team.
Do you really need to be told that four people commenting on one thread does not constitute the majority of users? And this argument that the rumour thread is incomprehensible seems to crop up a lot. I have some sympathy with that, but it would be more compelling and less prone to the argument that "well there are no rumours so what's the harm in us talking off-topic?" if threads like this one (discussing a rumoured signing, not all the other stuff) were part of it.
Why are some of you getting your knickers in a twist? I have no problem with threads unless there is an identical one. If it bothered me I wouldn't post on it. Simples (there I said it, so some can argue about that instead).
**** the summer transfer rumour thread. It's got a mind of it's own now. Someone ought to destroy it before it gets out of control. If Coventry sacking Thorn warrants a thread on a Southampton forum then I don't see why a potentially massive transfer doesn't. How one thread can be so terribly upsetting to some people on here is beyond me.
