With such a long break we need a reminder of how the first 1/2 of the season went! All the teams will surely be coming with loads of upgrades so how can you tell which ones will work and which ones won't? Even more impossible to predict than any of the previous races this season I would say, whatever the weather.
How amusing! I see Forza did not like my previous truism: that predictability in any sport negatively affects its audience over time. This is the very audience F1 needs in order to exist, which in turn provides the platform for anyone's favourite team ! For this reason, I'd have thought it obvious that I wasn't including a minority only interested in a single team's success (or worse, just one of its drivers), to such an extent that they do not regard the health of the sport as essential: i.e. those who refuse to see the bigger picture. Presumably, Forza, you also think it quite right that Ferrari were consistently given more money than all other teams and that they had more say in the running of the competition, as well as personal support from F1's ringmaster and the President of the FIA – who incidentally, replaced himself with a Ferrari puppet who still appears to dance the tune of di Montezemolo's violin? I suppose I can understand some people (tifosi?) not being interested in competition if it reflects badly upon their chosen faith and its gods. Fortunately the competition still exists because there is sufficient backbone amongst other competitors to keep fighting despite (and against) weighted dice – although I concede that they may have faired better breaking away and leaving Ferrari to a singular fate…
Spa on the calendar until 2015: http://www.gpupdate.net/en/f1-news/282821/spa-secured-on-calendar-until-2015/ Best news all break.
On another note, Manny I've not heard a word from you about Schumacher's 300th start this weekend. Flashback to two years ago with an old friend of his
It's not how many GP's raced, it's what we do in them that matters. And with that I wait for that ominous win. (20 years ago it was his first win).
It's incredible how so many of Schumacher's milestones have come at Spa- first race, first win, his 52nd win in 2001 (which broke Prost's most wins record), his seventh world title and now his 300th race start- and Spa was also the scene of the only other 300th race for a driver with Rubens Barrichello a couple of years ago. In fact before his comeback, Schumacher never finished off of the podium at Spa in all the races he completed the full distance in- perhaps he'll have good result there next weekend too.
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/102010 That's what I like to read. Instead of drivers tip-toeing around they can push 100% on a track that is absolutely fantastic.
In the wet yes but in the dry they are fine, the problem they have in warmer conditions is overheating.
It's looking like "mixed" weather ladies. Saturday looks to be the driest out of all three days, with Sunday being the wettest and Friday being between the two.
Like i said earlier on in the thread, this is the 1 race where weather reports are meaningless, it never does what it's supposed to at Spa.
