How does he do it? A 3-3 draw at WHL when we should have won the game. A drop from second to third in the table. But through all this M. Wenger carries on happliy looking at the world through his beer goggles. He sees things no one else does.

He says we can win the PL. Err...no we can't.

Will we even qualify for the Champions League next season?

How can I achieve his indescribable level of self-delusion?

    Answers on a postcard please.

I think you have to answer "I didn't see it" every time anything negative happens. It seems that after almost 15 years of saying it, Wenger is now physically incapable of seeing anything Arsenal do wrong. The man is living proof of the power of self reinforcing feedback...

We aren't going backwards, we are staying in the same place. Having a grievance with Wenger is fair enough, however making one up 'Will we even qualify for the Champions League next season?' is pretty pathetic. Like it or not mathematically we can win the league so your other complaint is a load of bollocks as well. As for the 3-3 draw, Tottenham played the best i have seen in ages, how many other teams in the league would have kept pace with them? Yes we squandered a 2 goal lead, but it was not like the other games where we contrived to drop points from a near unassailable position. In the NLD there wan't really a fixed pattern in the game, goals were going against the run of play all the time. It is not always due to mental weakness when something goes wrong.

Swarbs.....indebted to you. I will now not see anything even if happens before my very eyes,

Mr van-fiberglass: I agree with you that the once Mighty Arse are "standing still." I am not out to make a scapegoat of M. Wenger. What I question now is his vision and ability to carry the team forward etc etc. Agree with you the Spuds game was a cracker BUT we should have killed it off. And failing to do that is our main weakness.

By the way, I am NOT one of the maniacs calling for him to be sacked. If he was, who the f**k would the club replace him with?

All I want is for him to throw off the blinkers, open his eyes and bloody realise what needs to be done to carry the club to the next level. Oh....and stop messing about with developing yoof....

I would love him to stay - but only if he grows up and sees the light.

That interview about Fabregas and the Spanish mag makes him out to be a bit of a bitter old man, who is under a massive amount of pressure.

When will he bite the bullet and buy a couple of top quality players? Arsenal arn't going backwards, I think they are performing at maximum, but just need the little bit more quality and you will win the league.

I agree. Arsenal aren't going backwards. Problem is they ain't going forward either.

They do need a couple of new "quality" players but what they probably need is some die-hard English players. Is that racist in Commissar Camerons England? I don't think so.

The problem a lot of Prem League teams have - Arsenal included - is that they don't have English players with the "never-say-die" attitude. Too many foreign players with a very Gallic shrug and "oh there you go" when they lose.

I don't envy M. Wenger. While I would love his annual salary, I would hate the pressure he must be under week in, week out.

BUT.....he has to grow up and see where he has gone wrong. Too much emphasis on yoof - quickly loaned back out - and not much in the way of bringing in experienced players with an international pedigree. Maybe it was once down to money. Maybe it was down to that well known French tight-fisted inability to spend dosh.

Enough is enough. Arsenal play fantastic football. I first went to Highbury in 1967. I will support them until the universe implodes. BUT.....a trophy or title for all that fab football would be nice. G'bye.:headbang:

Trouble with this assessment is that Arsenal and Arsene aren't doing much wrong at all. This team STILL has the capacity to win the league - and whilst there are one or two positions which need strengthening (don't forget wenger tried to sign smalling and melo last close season) the average age of this team is 23 and going from strength to strength. Wenger is a genius - how many other managers could have built a title challenging team without spending £30m or £50m on one player?

True that the real measure of success is trophies, which Arsenal have been lacking for the last 6 years. But don't forget that in the grand scheme of things, rebuilding the invincibles, the stadium move, managing debt and making Arsenal into the most financially secure club in the UK - Arsene has performed miracles.

It's easy for the media and the kneejerk fans to knock him and his philosophy - and as an Arsenal fan I admit it is frustrating to watch our team come so close each season only to fall at the final hurdle, but we are moving in the right direction and (hopefully) with the addition of one or two key players, it will be the final piece of the jigsaw.
