In the unlikely event that we might get some football discussion going, here are my whisky-addled thoughts on how some of our newer/fringe players performed today:

Diouf - Played well. Always looking to get involved.

Weiss - I've been very critical of him in the past and seen him as a bit of a fancy Dan. A bit like early Ronaldo at Man U - too much Riverdance and not enough end product. I had absolutely no complaints today. He looked very sharp and was always looking to play his team-mates in. Linked up particularly well with Diouf and had a couple of assists to his name.

Jelavic - 3 goals. Man of the match. Nuff said. (I know he's neither a new player or a fringe player, but he has had a lot of time out)

Bartley - Made his debut and certainly didn't look out of place. Was brought in as cover for centre-half, but played a holding midfield role today. Also had a couple of decent efforts on goal. A useful addition to the squad and should certainly start more games.

Healy - Came on as sub and scored on his debut. It's fair to say that Motherwell were already dead and buried, but it's already clear that he's an improvement on Beattie (not that that's saying much).

Fleck - Looked lively enough but, as with Healy, the game was already done and dusted when he came on.

After looking very flat for the last couple of weeks, we put in a spirited performance against Motherwell. The attacking flair that we've been missing was there in spades today. Hopefully, this is the shape of things to come.

Squiggler:

I don't particularly like the guy, but I rate him Diouf big time. He has an appetite for the game and is (like you said) always looking for the ball. I like players who aren't feart of getting the ball, Durrant and Ferguson were similar, always wanted to make things happen.

Jelavic is different class, could've had 5 yesterday. Don't think we'll be able to hold onto him though :-(

Bartley had a great first game, looked like he'd been in that team all year! That's pretty good for a what, 19 year old? I rate him big time.

Healy, fat.

Fleck, hmmmm.

I always found it a little strange that they hated Diouf so much yet were cock out for Roy Keane?...

Why is it "Strange" that we like Roy Keane but did not Like Diouf?

Did Roy Keane spit on a Celtic fan's head?

Awh, I thought it was the way he acted when the guy got injured.

Well, did he actually spit on his head? Was he not assaulted by the said Celtic fan?...
