They are currently whining that the want the likes of myself, Davidako and Baz banned off the entire forum for no apparent reason.
I thought Dalglish's name was sung as part of the 'Fields..'. I'm sure BR doesn't expect the fans to stop singing it or change the words. He's paid his own tribute to Dalglsih's legend. This goes back to Hodgson thinking Dalglish's presence undermined him. No, Roy, your stinky football undermined you. Some of us can be patient with poor results - though you'd never guess it from last season - but stinky football is a big no-no. It's a bit rich for people to moon about undermining when Dalglish was undermined by impatient fans whining that there wasn't enough to brag about in a rebuilding season, including our weasel-eyed owner. It was a pleasant surprise to hear a commentator acknowledge that we had a long way to claw our way back from. It made a nice change from all the Dalglish-bashing of typical media muppets. Sadly JW probably had the US commentary on.
Plenty of us were willing to be patient last season MFG unfortunately we don't do the hiring or firing eh. Anyway it's done now and listening to Kenny on 5live on Saturday morning he has no regrets (as to be expected) and like the rest of us he will give BR as much support as we will. The only time I heard anyone sing Kennys name yesterday was during "Fields of Anfield Road" and seeing as we sang it about twenty times at full volume (excellent atmosphere yesterday by the way) that may well be why someone in the City end thought Dalglish's name was being chanted. I haven't met a Red yet who supported Kenny who won't get behind BR. The majority of us may well hold it against the owners for a long time (I certainly will) but as far as I'm concerned this has nothing to do with Rodgers.
Didn't think the atmosphere yesterday matched the semi final of last season when the crowd and players were really up for it Two questions from yesterday,Liverpool fans in the stand to the right of us kept raising an opened hand presumably signalling 5. It was lost on us I'm afraid Also there was a large flag in the Kop with just the number 7 on it.Was that for Dalglish' number or something else?
Also Suarez's number, but we will always worship Dalglish for his history at the club. Just because we have a new manager who has replaced him doesn't mean we can't show our appreciation for him.
The five fingered salute is a reference to our European cups. Five. Yes five. The no 7 shirt is an iconic number for LFC due to Dalglish. 5.
Probably just guilt by association, hey Manchester we won 5 type of thing. I was watching Fulham play on Saturday and United fans were singing "sign on" ummm you are playing fulham?
PaulPower- just like to echo the many comments about your OP, nice to hear positive comments from opposition fans and in return I will say that I still expect city to retain their title.
Always a good atmos 1st home game of the season but it was definitely better than usual although not quite up to the standards of the Semi fair enough. Obviously the 7 is a number of legendary status at Anfield (Keegan, Dalglish, Beardsley and Callaghan for a while...oh and Harry Kewell ) and currently being worn by Suarez. We have a tendency to wave the 5 fingers at most big visiting teams but you Manchester boys get it to show that we don't have freakish webbed hands like you lot (just kidding)
Worst Liverpool performance I had ever seen at the Etihad under Woy ,an utter disgrace Could've been sacked that day and he couldn't have complained
