How it would cause the Charlton fans more problems I don't know; it's their home ground.
And I think don't it does any harm. And yes we did; we had radio updates saying it took 2 and a half hours to get through and that North East London (Where we were heading) was gridlocked. We rant CAFC to let them know our problems and others as we passed City fans on the m11; and nothing happened.

I'm sorry but they can't just change kick off time to suit a couple hundred fans stuck in traffic, these things happen its not either clubs problem. Delaying kick off could **** up people's schedules they've planned around football, and whose to say every charlton fan lives within close proximity to the ground? I travel 110 miles to each home game at the kc and always have tight schedule to get straight home with just enough time to **** shower shave, get ready and jump on the last bus into town. If we delayed kick off half hour because 100 away fans were stuck in traffic I'd be fuming as it would entirely **** up my day. You've every right to be pissed off for missing the match but to hold a grudge at a football team because they didn't potentially upset thousands to suit you is quite pathetic.

Hope you enjoyed the rest of your birthday <ok>

to be fair its not charltons or citys fault, whoever caused the accident is the only one at fault here and chances are theyve paid a price for it so call it even and move on..
.id be asking why the coach carried on and got there at 4.30 , instead of turning round at the 1st chance like we did in car...not really worth seeing twenty mins of the game, could have at least got back to hull an hour earlier..

You'll find that a club will make a decision based on the potential number of people affected and how it will impact them on their onward / return journey.

For example we had Leeds at home a few seasons ago for a night match and there was a problem on the M62 and the game kicked of late. The reasoning being that, given the proximity from Leeds to Hull, the 'majority' of fans would not be severely impacted by having to return a little later especially as many would have made independant travel arrangements, whilst the rest would be on official coaches.

In your case you were on an official coach and therefore had a guaranteed means of returning back to Hull. Many fans had made it to the ground via train / tube and would have had difficulty making their return connections had the game been delayed for an hour or more. If it was a matter of 10-15 minutes I guess it would have been different, but it sounds like some didn't arrive until 4.30pm.

I know it sucks, but I think they would have tried to make the fairest call they could for the majority.

Yeah every other club are wrong in the way they do things, and the Allams are the only ones who know best. Just like the Bruce thing, you're having a go at me for being right again. I don't want to see things like this coming out all the time but when they do, and I've been saying about it before (and criticised for doing so) I will bring it up again.

And you post almost exclusively bollocks about other posters.

This is a messageboard, if someone does something **** they'll get criticism. If it's one of your favourites like the Allams, Bruce or Fryatt I don't give a ****. It will get pointed out and some people on here need to grow the **** up about it. Especially on the Bruce and Allam things, just because you've made your mind up months ago and it won't change, doesn't mean no ****er else can say anything to the contrary.

Based on what I'm seeing on facebook there were still people turning up at the 70 minute mark.

Half an hour though could easily make a difference if you're booked on say the 6pm train back from Kings Cross. With advance tickets you'd be looking at having to buy a new ticket at "on the day" prices. When I used to travel back from Hull after games I was booked on a train from York that meant I had to get the quarter past five train from Hull. If I missed it instead of having an £11 ticket that was valid I'd have had to spend another £60 on a replacement, and when I lived in Hull I used to have to be at work for 6pm. I seem to recall one game us having a 10 minute delay which meant I had to sprint through to station.

If Tiger Travel have ****ed up by setting off too late then it's down to them to sort it out with their passengers and they should do something about it (even if it's just free travel to another London weekend game), but the FL and Charlton Athletic causing problems for hundreds of other people just so that everybody has been inconvenienced equally isn't a sensible call. A delayed kickoff also interferes with a lot more than just the crowd at the game.

just read that the accident happened at 7.30am...you probably do have a right to be pissed off on tiger travel to be fair..you think they would keep a track of traffic news en route and plenty of time to plot an alternative course

That was us by the way :)!

I've sent an email to the club asking if I can my Tiger Travel costs refunded or transferred onto another game. Bet they claim it's not their fault

Happy Birthday Tom, unlucky I guess. I can see Tiger Travel giving you a free ride though, probably to a local game.
