Ok so the deal's finally done and all that remains is the ink to dry on his Real contract and Spur's bank balance to be fatter; which leads me to say...

LEVY - PULL YOUR F*****G FINGER OUT AND GET SOME PLAYERS IN!!!!!!

Too many seasons of Levy dragging his heels, waiting for the best deals and ultimately failing when the clock strikes midnight has left me with little or no patience for the man.

  4. Who are you talking about?

    Alonso? Torres? Kenny-boy?

Surely not Brendan Rodgers? He hasn't been sacked already, has he?????

I thought he'd last at least until Christmas.

The partnership to me sounds like they become first choice to get your best players, and you become first choice for their rejects.

(RM rejects not necessarily being bad)

It's all speculation, it really doesn't sound like that I don't think they even mention transfers. The partnership is expected to be beneficial to us though, as we accepted less than we wanted. If it does incluse transfers though, sorting out an agreement with one of the few teams that could afford Bale, for example, so that they come to us first and don't aggressively pursue our players would be beneficial. The stand off has affected both sides preparations for the new season and I think it'd be in both our interests to avoid a recurrence of this.

Ahh thank you very much for gracing us with your insider knowledge of our new partnership. For all you or I or anyone knows we could get someone like Callejon on loan or it could just be a yearly friendly. No one knows until more detail is released!

Perhaps you lot should have a word with Manchester. :)

  11. I expect the partnership includes the following (both ways):

    - first choice on loaning young stars
    - first refusal on any sales
    - swaps/trades
    - discount on purchases (or other favourable terms, such as performance/appearance related bonuses and add-ons)

Will it work? Time will tell.

Having said that, I expect Levy to have got his hands on at least £30m, regardless of what else has been agreed between the clubs. Let's hope that he and AVB have good players lined up to sign on the dotted line, later this week.

Immediate thought after reading 'partnership' was Bale.

Partnerships are relatively irrelevant. Remember us having a partnership with Carlton when we bought shelvey 2 years ago and we haven't loaned anyone to them since :/

Couldn't help but think the same.

Partnerships don't seem to work both ways (i.e. Internacional refusing to sell us Leandro), although if we somehow wind up with Khedira and Higuain by September 1st I might be a bit less skeptical...

They never reveal much more for the public for these things though, it's always boilerplate language about knowledge sharing and cooperation.

I expect that real Madrid have other such agreements with smaller clubs though.

My initial thoughts were that the partnership was bizarre. I'm not sure if at all how it is beneficial to Spurs but I don't know the ins and outs of it.

I'm surprised Levy only sold for £30m or so given his strong stance throughout the saga. It seems odd turning down a £40m bid + Alex and then accepting a £30m bid a year later. I don't think Modric's true value has depreciated at all and his performances were excellent.

All in all it's a shame the Premier League has lost such a great talent but wish the best for Modric in what is a new challenge and Im sure he'll flourish especially under Jose

First you don't know the details of the deal.
Second if you can't see the difference between selling to Madrid and selling to Chelsea from a Spurs point of view then you can see very little.

Admittedly I don't know the ins and outs like I said so I can't really comment. I would have thought £40m + a centre back would have been a better deal for Spurs but I still think £30m was a good deal considering Madrid seemed insistent they wouldn't pay more than £25m. It Still gives Spurs a handsome fee to be able to sign other players
