http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/manchester-united-transfer-news-fergie-1281599 I know it is The Mirror, but can we afford to lose another centre half?
Tricky one this for both player and club Is it fair to the lad to block a move to the biggest club in England (cue posters telling me that's bollocks and offering other clubs - OK so Man U are up there) Is it a good move for the lad, will he go there never to be heard of again? Lots of players have made it through Man U's youth set up to become regulars Top has invested a small fortune in the club, this is a chance to recoup some money and tip the balance back a little He's our prospect whom we've invested a great deal of time and money in, so shouldn't we benefit from him. We've all seen some tremendous prospect hit the pitch on fire, only to fade and become mediocre soon after - If we don't cash in now, we could end up loaning him out to some lower league team, like say York City, only to later release him so York can sign him on a free But I think the biggest factor here is - It was in the mirror so is total bollocks
No, but if you try and point out that Moore is better than Chester then I'm afraid you need your head testing
In fairness I wouldn't claim that, but whatever player is discussed you trot out the same sentence - If Chester is that good, why did Man U release him - Why isn't he playing for Real Madrid
He is very good but not that good however, I can guaratee you that he will make an appearance for England one day
Charles. May I remind you of a few things. -Moore is a RB whereas Chester is a CB. Which voids that comparison. -Manchester United released Chester for peanuts. -This is in the Mirror.
Chester is better than Moore. No comparison. Though it should be - Moore's career i just starting and Chester has had man utd coaching all his life.
We dont... but im not convinced that he is that good. I think we could sell him and bring in someone else (chester even!) and improve the team.
If Man U think he is good enough for them then clearly there is some potential there. To sell him for 4M and then see him go on to become a top footballer will make us look stupid. Chester has nothing to do this, Charlie thinks Chester is better then Bobby Moore neither mind Liam Moore. Moore is a right back just making his way into the game and he has had to play centre half because of injuries. People need to remember this time last year we had the same thing with Jeff Schlupp With us not needing the money it will take something big to tempt Nigel and the owners, since the owners have arrived no one has left the club who we didnt let go. We arent a selling club
You have to take into account Man U are a particularly well run club - They don't tend to over pay for players and there is no way they'ed pay £4 Mill for Moore
If they really want him then they will know they will have to pay more then 4M. They just paid 4M for a League 2 player. Now they will need to tempt one of the richest clubs in the championship for a 19 year old with big potential, 4M wont cut it and they know that.
Not sure about this. If its true then it'll be hard to turn down for the lad. But again, I think it's more likely that it's either his agent trying to get him a new deal or a slow news day in the Mirror office and they've asked 'Who needs a CB?' and then find a young CB who's had their name banded about recently and tried to put 2+2 together.
