Dempsey needs mentioning. What does every one prefer our of these two for the immediate future? To be the first choice front three this season. -Dempsey---------Sterling- -----------Suarez--------- -Borini------------Sterling- ---------Suarez----------- Sterling put in as a random example.
Look at it this way. If we have Dempsey, Borini, Suarez and Carroll all looking to get at least 15 goals this season, it will be better than having just Torres looking to get 30. We need to spread the goals out through out the squad so that we dont have to rely on any one, adding extra pressure, or crumble when players get injured.
The next point is then this. If Borini gets injured we are stuck with Downing and Cole Rodgers doesnt want to change his tactics.
Yes, but it is that lack of reliability. They will all chip in every now and then, but we need someone who just scores all the time.
We can move Gerrard forward and we have Assadi to come in also.. Think we will bring someone else in to help in the top half of the pitch.
TBH I reckon we are probably on te brink of a deal that will see Adam go to Real Madrid, with Ronaldo + cash coming to us. If we never look at Dempsey again, it will weaken Fulham's complaint against us. I say leave him alone, and go for someone else. While Glen Johnson did great at left-back, I think we need cover that can be trusted, If Robinson isn't it, then get someone else, who is. Has Doni gone-ie? With Jones on the bench, I assume he has gone, but I've not heard anything. And with Pepe being a bit lacklustre I think we need to bring in Manuel Neuer in my mind...
Hmmm... People like Borini... I don't completely agree.. I'm trying not to draw a final judgement on him... early days yet- could become good... but quite frankly based on what I've seen so far- I think Downing has looked better this season than Borini. Borini hasn't instantly slipped into the team as successfully as Allen has. Another striker would be good- but defence is also needed. Outside of Agger and Skrtel our centre backs are not too good. Carra, legend but past it- and Coates looks like he has the boots- but he makes a lot of poor decisions. Still think we need another natural left-back. Johnson looked better there today- but he's better, more of a threat on the right.
For someone who has Lucas as their name and Avatar, I would have thought you would be more aware about the perils of judging a player too soon.
I agree- there have been a few glimpses of goodness there... I don't think he's comparable with Kuyt yet... and not joking- Downing has been... well mediocre this season... he could even be considered borderline good... I think he has shown more than Borini so far. Borini players against Gomel at home- and has been in every game so far under BR. I still hold hope for him... but I think he wastes shot and possession too much at the moment. Sterling has been brilliant- although he does seem to go in spurts... he's always over the place- dangerous- and then drifts out the game for 20... 30... minutes... but if the lad is this good at 17 he's going to be amazing at 21.
