David de Gea: 6/10. Made some big saves throughout the game, but made a big mistake on Fulham's second goal. We'll have a top, top, keeper once De Gea can master the art of crosses and commanding his area. Rafael da Silva: 7/10. Absolutely phenomenal going forward today, many of our attacks down the right involved his bursting runs pulling Fulhman's defense out of position. Almost had a hattrick with the disallowed goal, and the header in the second half. His goal was well taken as well. While he won a lot of balls when Fulham tried to catch us the break, but got beat one on one more often than he won. He's wearing Gary Neville's #2 now, so surely Fergie see's him as our future RB. Michael Carrick: 6/10. He played really well considering he was being played as a center back. Most of his errors were really down to him not being a central defender, and not having the instinct on when to challenge for a ball and when to just contain a player. Nemanja Vidic: 7/10. Solid performance, still looks to be getting back into the swing of things after a lengthy time out of competitive play. Not back to his best yet, but he's getting there. Patrice Evra: 8/10. Was solid defensively and very active in our attacks going down the left hand side. Picked up an assist on Van Persie's goal. Probably would have been more effective if Young wasn't so poor. Defensively he dealt with everything that came his way, and seemed to drift centrally and win headers as well. Antonio Valencia: 7/10. Valencia and Rafael were tearing up that right side all first half. The defenders couldn't cope with their pace and power, and it wasn't surprising most of our attacks came down the right hand side. Tom Cleverly: 7/10: Mostly quiet in the first half, but that was largely do to Anderson running the show, but once Anderson tired and was subbed off he was our really only player trying to push forward. I was impressed with the amount of time he was filling to get stuck in and win the ball back, but then more often not would start to take off only for Dembele to dispossess him. Anderson: 7/10. He was great in the first half. Spread the ball well to the wings and brought our whole team into the attack and won the ball back quite a few times. If we can get that Anderson for 90 minutes every week, our midfield would be a lot stronger. In the second half he was obviously tired and he kind of dropped off. If he can pick up his fitness so he can be that cog in our midfield who keeps us ticking we can be dangerous for an entire 90 minutes, instead of letting Fulham boss us around at home for 30-40 minutes. Ashley Young: 3/10. The only decent thing he did all night was a nice cross on Rafael's goal, other than that it was bad decision after bad decision. He's still clearly in his Euro slump, and if he doesn't pick it up I can see him having trouble making the match day 18. Shinji Kagawa: 9/10. Our best player on the night, got a deserved goal as well. His ability and assurance on the ball is sublime, reminds me a bit of Berbatov in that respect. He can pick up the ball with 3 opposing players around him and turn and pick a pass without giving anyone one of those players a sniff of the ball. Once the team gels with Kagawa, I predicts a lot of goals, he's playing people in the box, but no one really expects that as we've been lacking a player with that ability for quite some time. Robin van Persie: 7/10. His goal was pure class, a goal that kind of seems like van Persie's trademark. Got involved quite a bit in the build up as the game went on, but really didn't do too much other than score the goal. Subs. Wayne Rooney: 5/10. Replaced Kagawa and then we seemed to lose almost all attacking intent and just let Fulham attack. Danny Welbeck: 4/10. I remember seeing him twice when he came on, when he actually came on, and once when he burst into the box only for Ryan Giggs to hit a terrible cross. Although his lack of action was more due to use spending more time defending than attacking. Ryan Giggs: 4/10: Didn't really do much either, but looked a bit off the boil when he did have the ball.
