How mad is this RIP Neil Armstrong. These boys will go down as possibly the most important explorers in human history What a legacy that is.
Neil made one of my favourite comments of all time. "The human heart has a finite number of beats, why waste half of them exercising" RIP The guy had class too, Buzz Aldrin whored himself to any and everyone, while Neil remained a private man, who hardly ever spoke about his achievement. I wonder if Lance killed him? Did Neil see a headline "Armstrong banned for Life" and popped his clogs?
Buzz was a troubled man. Incredibly intelligent (they're still using his orbital rendevous calculations nowadays to send satellites around the earth and other planets, but in Armstrong's autobiography he openly speculates that Buzz had a sulk on when they were on the moon, hence Buzz never took any photos of Neil. Got to be said though that Aldrin 'saved' the programme with his work on EV's on Gemini XII, as up until then they were really struggling with working in space, never mind working on the moon. As said, a complex but brilliant man (and he WAS probably right about the precedent of the pilot rather than the commander being first out for EV's being set during Gemini, and the bull about it being the way the hatch opened was contradicted by Alan Bean who -rightly- said the CMR and LMP simply had to swap places BEFORE they put their suits on).
