Just reading that Bastos is impatient and angry at Lyon for not finalising his move to Al Ain <doh>

A shame that players still in their 20's are opted to moves to these clubs, playing in front of 500 fans for 250k a week <doh>

Such a talented player as well, a lot like Hatem Ben Arfa.

Clearly down to money, such a shame to see players like him and Gyan, who could have had really good careers for themselves putting money they don't need first and playing at such a poor level.

Unfortunately in this era we will always get players chasing money instead of glory. Look at Benoit at Spurs, a pretty decent full back imo but he doesn't even like football!!

    Really?

You hear a few stories where footballers fall out of love with the game.

Seriously! Underlines what's wrong with modern football.

Tash, we may have some arabic members so the term you used to describe them generically is not entirely appropriate.

A bit derogatory and wouldn't go down well with them. We've got people from all over the world living in the town and they've chosen to support NUFC and thrown their weight behind the team and are one of us.

I don't think so. He still plays well for them. Plenty of people don't love their jobs and footballers shouldn't be held to different standards in regards to that.

    > Korean and Japanese leagues pretty decent
    > Australia become a part of Asian football
    > Qatar get world cup
    > China and Saudi leagues spending big on legitimately class players

Even if it is the 'wrong way' of doing things, I can see the Asian Champions League being pushed commercially within this decade. That or the Asian Championships, to the level of say, the ACoN.

If India can get their **** together then maybe Asia can become more competitive in the world cup. It's all about generating interest and splashing the cash is the way to do it. The amount of international football fans who consider Chelsea and Man City as 'bigger' than Everton prove this point.

Big shame as he is a superbly talented left back and left winger. Likes of him and Gyan are a bit of a joke but I suppose some just can't resist the money for whatever reason

India will never want to play football at the top level, its just completely not their culture.
