We played badly. Very badly if you consider that Norwich weren't great but played the percentages well - nothing silly and nothing spectacular. Park and Diakite gave the ball away too easily. Junior seems to not want to run at people as often as he should. Green looked like he wanted to run off into the nearest small, dark space and cry his heart out. The ref made a couple of mistakes that helped us but seemed to do everything in his power to counter-balance it in the second half. I think the team looked not so much bad but bereft of confidence. That said, a point on a day like this is a good result and the kind that lifts spirits slightly. Also, when was the last time we picked up a point on our travels? I thought Fabio looked more comfortable at RB (although Bosingwa who was also OK and seemed to fit in well may have scuppered that). Don't understand complaints at Cisse - he made some good runs for overhit passes. He's a greedy forward as most are and should be and a bit lazy when there's not a goal in it for him. Park and Mackie worked tirelessly. If there's a pattern forming it's a decent first half followed by a poor second. It might be tiredness but even MH's knockers (not tits before anyone starts) wouldn't say that he'll be going easy on the team in training. This leads me to think that training is perhaps too hard but we'll see rewards when the fitness levels catch up. If we can last a while at home without conceding (a feature of the last 2 games) then we might have more time to show the quality that the team has. Plenty of work to be done but plenty to build on. Still optimistic.
Well reasoned post Matt, confidence goes such a long way and after last Saturday it was clear we'd be low on that. The result was more important than the performance today, if only to get a point on the board and end that awful run of away defeats...
Cheers Super. One of many I respect massively on here. I can't face any more crap from this forum. If this ship's going to sink then I'd be happier discovering the holes for myself than be pre-warned at 30 second intervals. I still believe we'll rock into port with a happy, knowing crew. Self imposed hiatus.
I'm still optimistic. If we can bring in a decent keeper and defender, which looks likely next week and have Ali back, the difference will be massive. A bit of short term pain for long term gain.
Still early days. Im not a Rob Green fan - would rather have seen Paul Robinsin sign HOWEVER as Green is here I wll support him. Both sides needed something from yesterdays game so I guess a draw was always going to be the likely outcome. agree 12th, we need a keeper to challenge Green and another centre half. Lets hope we get the players and can start to climb the table
Matt, you are a wise head on young shoulders. Well done mate. I am massively disappointed but only a teeny bit worried at present and I do mean teeny. Basically I share your optimism. If we get turned over by Walsall, however, the 'we're doomed' brigade will be all over us!
people are giving their opinions If everyone had the same opinions there would be no point having a board
I am still optimistic - and cannot understand alot of the criticism. But things need to improe quickly for sure - we cannot afford to plod along like we are for long. We have quality players now, something we have lacked for a long time - we just need to start playing as a team. at the moment we are not.
Perspective? Too much ****ing perspective.
