    That appeared to be Hoover, and Fontes valiant block was just too late. We will learn from this.

    Kone should have scored before he did, it was Foxes last ditch tackle that prevented it, and just saw that there was a dead cert foul not given before the second goal, didn't see it at the time, we wuz robbed!

    Mark Lawrenson's analysis of West Ham's dire performance...;

    "Look, West Ham will be absolutely fine".

    We'll see Mark, we'll ****ing well see.

    It is said that Spider covered 7.29 miles today, once again, more than any other Premier player, it was unfortunate, that thanks to Wigans game plan it wasn't more productive use of his energy.

    I rate Lawrenson and Hansen as pundits about as much as I rate my girl-pulling abilities.

    They're ****e.

    To me, the formation is not as much of a problem as having no wide players. Saints had the same problem last year playing 4-4-2 where they were often exposed down the flanks on counters because Lallana and Guly both like to go inside.

    And to be honest, Saints have always been a little weak without possession in the back four and midfield. There were games last year where Saints were bossed in the midfield down the middle of the pitch as well because they don't tackle well and are lightweight. Their best defense was their ability to maintain possession and not have to play defense in the first place. They tried that today and dominated possession for stretches in the first half, but didn't score. When Wigan scored, then they went to 4-4-2 and fell apart.

    It is probably smarter to go 4-3-3 against teams that like to pass through the middle and perhaps switch to 4-4-2 against others. But until they have some players that are comfortable playing out a little wider, they can't play either formation well.

    Out of interest, do people on hear hope we will survive? or actually think we will?. At the moment i don't think there are 3 teams with squads worse than ours.

    I think we will see that we can perform well against the smaller teams when we purchase three or so players in the coming week.

    ATM our team would go down, but if we sign a cb and a winger we will be fine imo

    if you are going to be a **** pundit, you can at least have a personality that's more interesting than a cheese-string. Hansen and Lawrenson haven't listened to this.

    interesting to hear the confindence from you, i was at the game today, it was very dis-jointed, mentioned on another thread that i dont think we are a million miles off scoring quite afew goals. have to say i really dislike the 4-3-3/4-5-1 thing were playing though. Having our record signing striker playing left midfield really is a waste.

    What was that from Kelvin <laugh> Was in a good position then backtracked, moved to the right and left the goal open for Kone.
