Maybe everyone travelled to Dag&Red today and will be writing their match reviews for not606 when they get home <whistle>

Well done Martin Allen and the lads, 3 league games, 3 wins, meaning a 100% positive start to the season and top of the table <applause> Well ok 2nd, so after all there is a negative to discss...we are one goal difference to Oxford <laugh>

Funny thing that seems to happen when we do well. It all goes quieter.

    Why?

Is it disbelief? Not wanting to get over confident? Or is it just easier to moan when things go wrong.

In all honesty, personally, I feel the only time we can get carried away is when the job is done (ie come the end of the season). There's no denying it, it is great to win and we've starting to build a good bit of form, but our focus must now be on the next game because if we get complacent or let the performance levels drop then this great start could mean nothing come May.

(in all honesty I'm bursting with pride inside but trying very hard to keep it in don't want to count our chickens and all that but I am THRILLED)

OK GeminiSwiftgfc - so you want moaning ? This was a game that we could have just as easily lost - or could have won by more with a bit of luck. The Official Site states that we just edged it. This is a fair assessment of a game where both teams were guilty of wastefulness. I am very pleased that we are getting the results - but there is a lot of room for improvement - but with the squad we've got I am hopeful that we will begin to see the team play with real quality. I would say that the torrential rain must have made it very difficult for the players - so perhaps some excuse for not being overly convincing - but - it's the result that counts.
I was impressed by the way that Martin Allen changes things early. It was very evident at Wycombe as well as today that he has a good football brain, as it concerns the tactics and use of personnel - and not afraid to bring on 2 subs early in the game - to have a chance to be effective.

I most certainly DO NOT WANT moaning. Never said I did. Just that it's easy to moan when things go wrong.

To be honest, I can't believe how well the Gills have started. I'm sure someone will correct me, but the last time we started this well in the league was in 95/96 season... And we all know how that ended...

One of the most pleasing things to me is that you look at the 3 away games we've won, Bristol City, Wycombe and D&G, are generally places that we don't do very well at.

actually we started 2002/3 with 3 league victories, each by 1-0 ( and top of the Championship ) before losing by the same scoreline at Norwich.
.... you knew it had to be me
