There is no way Villa's support is that local trust me on that. And also it's bull. Postcode shouldn't matter distance to ground should be how you measure local support Spurs being more supported than Chelsea in London is also bollocks
Sorry, but this is utter bollocks. EDIT: Apologies, didn't see that it said 'same postcode' therefore it's more realistic but still not 100% true. Plus, I'm not sure postcode is much to do with local support if I'm honest, my postcode was different to the Bridge yet it's a quick walk across the Themes.
Postcode is stupid for teams in London, of course teams like Wogan will have more fans in the postcode area, QPR are in w12 which is a tiny postcode area but we will have big support all over our borough and up in to North West London
Agree you could be in and out of W12 at the blink of an eye. Same with SW6. People move around London all the time. Both my parents grew up in different parts of London but I'm SW. Because of the size of London none of the research there is valid. Of course in small towns like Southampton the local support % will come out higher. And a total of 13,000 fans from 20 clubs is nowhere near representative. City's local support is massive. Far more than United's
I saw a similar survey a few years ago which was based on season ticket holders rather than just "fans" and I suspect that would give very different results.
Now that made me laugh. I can see the stadium from my house and I can walk it in all of three minutes but it hasn't got the same postcode !! In fact seeing as its got loads of shops close by and hardly any houses I'm shocked ours (Swansea) is as high as 48%. Virtually all our fans live locally, why on earth would we get glory hunters ?
