So... Are you an optimist or a pessimist when it comes to supporting the Saints?

Surely the most likely is pessimistic bearing in mind all our club has been through, although looking at in from another view you could say we've basically hit rock bottom and the only way is UP!

Myself, I'm a freshly converted optimist.

    Poll, mods??

I am an born-again optimist on all days except match-days, then the traditional Saints fan default position of fear and despair set in.

**** off JDub. You're still a pessimist ha. I know I am. I just have a feeling we will find a way to mess it up.

I'm not talking specifically about promotion, but this is the first year as a Saints fan that I honestly say that I expect to win every game. Comes of being a big fish in a little pond, I suppose.

I am a realist. I live in hope and expectation, and fully expect Saints to win, but recognise that in football nothing is guaranteed, and if your players dont respond on the day any team in your league can beat you. Funny enough, I am more pessimistic listening on the radio than at the game! when at home at 2 - 0 up, i think we will draw or lose 3 - 2, when at the game the exact opposite is true - cant explain that one!

Haha i'm exactly the same, always have been a pessimist when it comes to saints and i don't think it'll ever change. They have done too many stupid things over the years for me not to be! They have also fecked a few games up this year which is typical saints.

Strangely enough i'm tipping us to beat brighton on saturday though! dunno why!

Never listen to matches on radio. When you watch a game you can see that they are playing well even a goal down, but on the radio they are always rubbish, the other team always play like ManU, and the ref is an idiot. The last bit is always true live as well!

Are you a pessimistic optimist, fear the worst and hope for the best, or an optimistic pessimist, always expect the best but know it is going to be worse?

Listening on the radio always means I have no nails and end up pacing the hall for the last added 5 minutes.

Regarding promotion this time round, I am optimistic because realistically we are in the best position. However, during game time I half expect the opposition to score against us every time they get near our penalty area, and never think WE are going to score until the ball is in the net - even then the first place I look is at the linesman! (Think that makes me a pessimist!)

I am more optimistic than last year but this is how pessimistic I am this season:

by Saturday evening I believe we will be 3 points off 2nd place. But we will still get autos.

Confused? It's called being a Saint!

I am outwardly an optimist and inwardly quivering with the fear of failure.
