this has definitely been one of the more interesting Premiership seasons so far. Not so much the title race / European places, but more the huge number of teams in danger of relegation

Usually, 40 to 42 points is quoted as the magic number to stay in the division.

This season, what do you reckon it will be?

Personally, I think goal difference will be the key to survival, it'll go down to the last day with 4 or 5 teams still in the mix. Just a shame Villa picked up some points recently, would have loved to see them relegated (by 6 goals. haha!)

I reckon 40 points should see us safe, but one more win will guarantee it. I think 3rd bottom will get 40 points, which means we would survive on goal difference. We are basically 8 points clear at the moment :)

I think that 40 will actually be enough but with a few more on the board means we can go into the final few games without worrying about those below us and their results.

How many for a top 10 finish though?

    I'd reckon 46 will do.

If the same team that played Man Utd keeps turning up we've got no worries.

I think we should be safe on 40, especially with our good goal difference. There are too many poor teams below us who would stop us going down.

We have 3 very winnable games coming up (Blackpool, Birmingham, W Brom). If we get 7 or 9 points in those, plus maybe another draw against either Chelsea or Liverpool, we should be about 7th-9th. This would hopefully persuade possible signings we are good enough to make it into Europe, and help us strengthen in the summer.

    This ^^^

Don't think we'll get 9 points from Blackpool, Brum & West Brom but we'll get enough out of those games to be comfortable. Would love it if we beat The Bindippers

knowing us, we'll lose to Blackpool, Brom, and Brum - yet get 6 points against Chelski and the Scousers

Tiote turning the gypsy boy into a crimson stain in the first 30 seconds of the game is what I'm looking forward to. <ok>

I think the gypsy boy will end up one very frustrated boy.

I think that the goal difference that we have is worth an extra point. We ought to be safe barring a calamity but another win ought to really do it.

I may cry if he has a blinder and takes Colo & Willo apart.

I have a feeling Williamson can handle him. Carroll was **** against any really big CBs, barely got a look in against Samba and Hangeland. Williamson can handle him IMO and Colo's the man to have Suarez in his pocket ;)

I would have thought we'd be on enough points now to survive. But another 6 points would be nice. For me now, I want us to start looking at finishing above Sunderland. Would be brilliant considering all the stick they've given us over the past 2 years. Especially at the beginning of the season, "easy 6 points" LOL!
